Year 1, Day 149: healing, home working, coconut oil using

I appreciate:

  1. How quickly the worst of this cough passed. Hooray! That magical combination of vitamins, homeopathy, acupressure, and rest worked wonders. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  2. Working from home. With a little Dayquil, I think I can even work for an hour or two today. How great that I can stay in my pjs and take a nap afterward. πŸ™‚
  3. Coconut oil. I haven’t tried it for many things yet, but it’s been great for my chapped lips and sore nose. Plus it smells good!

Year 1, Day 147: optimism, bed, family, FB

I appreciate:

  • My own sense of optimism which makes it possible for me to believe that even though I woke up with a fever over 100 and cough, I could still be completely recovered by tomorrow. πŸ™‚
  • My warm, comfortable bed, warm socks, ricola cough drops, and tea.
  • My family, whom I know will take care of me (well, those who aren’t also sick, that is!). I’m lucky to have so much comfort around me when I don’t feel well.
  • Oh, I’m also grateful for FB’s reminder that it’s my mom’s birthday. I normally remember these things, but might have missed it today. πŸ˜›

Year 1, Day 146: Samantha, Jill, circle of comrades

I appreciate:

  1. All the people from Samantha’s Off Book for bravely knowing and not-knowing their lines. πŸ™‚
  2. Jill for infusing her brilliantly funny set with moments of incredible beauty and truth, like the lullaby “You don’t have to be a god, you are enough.”
  3. The spectacular circle of comedic comrades in my life. Sensational!

Year 1, Day 144: warm weather and cool jobs

I appreciate:

  1. The spring-like weather today. I know it’s temporary, but it made me happy for spring. πŸ˜ƒ
  2. Having really cool jobs. I appreciate that I am constantly learning and stretching beyond what I know right now. (Like,Β uh, how to do a laughter yoga presentation/demo for 150 people….) It’s exciting!
  3. The past few months, writing the Songwork.com newsletter series featuring our instructors has given me the chance to learn more about these truly amazing people. Check outΒ this super-cool “Stylus Symphony”Β written by our own Stephen Webber for a 90-piece orchestra — plus turntables!!Β

Year 1, Day 143: planner colors, holiday mugs, Cimmy cat

I appreciate:

  1. My 5 color system in my planner: Family/friends, Skynote, Seriously Happy, Songwork, Improv. Those are 5 great ways to spend time every day! (And how nice that I even get paid for some of them.) πŸ˜ƒ
  2. My holiday mugs. Even though most of the holiday things are put away, the lights are still up and we’re still using the mugs. Why? Because we like them. 😜
  3. I also appreciate Cimmy, who is beautiful and inquisitive.

Year 1, Day 140: questions, answers, longer days, encouragement

Question and appreciations:

  1. What do you do to calm your mind when you feel overwhelmed by the number of to-dos on your list and events on your calendar? I’d love to hear about your ways to find peace amidst chaos!
  2. Meanwhile, I appreciate my wise and thoughtful friends, who I know will have interesting answers to that question. πŸ˜ƒ
  3. I also appreciate the fact that the days are getting longer and longer – so much yummy daylight now!
  4. I appreciate hope and neuroplasticity. Even though I feel discouraged and overwhelmed right now, I know I can think my way (however gradually it might be) to a place that feels easier. πŸ˜‰
