Year 1, Day 158: hooks, gmail, pens

I appreciate:

  1. 3M hooks. The perfect tool for people who like to hang things up, but who change their minds a lot… πŸ˜‰
  2. Gmail. So easy to use and the best way to consolidate my many emails. One inbox, no waiting!
  3. Pilot G-2 Ultra Fine pens. What a nice, sharp point. Perfect for tiny writing. πŸ˜›

Year 1, Day 157: dentist, different career interests, bitwordy

I appreciate:

  1. My dentist, who will fix my cracked tooth today. If past experience is any guide, the appointment will be quick, comfortable, and easy!
  2. Other people who do jobs I would NEVER want to do, including all surgeons, most medical professionals, any jobs that require leaving the house before 7 am, dangerous jobs, boring jobs…. it’s a long list. I’m so glad there are people willing to do those things!
  3. My BitWordy (like online Boggle) friends. How lovely to hang out with my wordy-nerdy friends and find lots of long words in the morning (yesterday I found cessation. That was fun!) πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 156: bird song in ears, improv in head, clementines in mouth

Today I appreciate:

  1. The sound of the birds outside my window. It may be only 9ΒΊ, but I know spring is coming…Ha!
  2. I also appreciate the way good improv stays in my head and gives me reasons to smile at the oddest moments. The bird I’m hearing this morning is a chickadee, and it reminds me of a scene I saw (probably Show X, maybe 3 months ago) in which the characters were calling “Chickadee-dee-dee” (I think Tim started it). I don’t remember why or the details of the scene, but I remember it being super-funny and that memory is making me smile today!
  3. Oh, I also appreciate clementines. So easy to peel, so delicious. πŸ˜›

Year 1, Day 153: contrast

I appreciate: contrast.

  1. Leaving my cozy house to go outside where it’s coldcoldcold helps me fully appreciate how cozy and comfy my house is.
  2. Being sick for a week makes it easy to appreciate being well!
  3. Not doing or seeing improv for a week makes it easy to love improv. Oh, wait. That was already easy…. πŸ˜›

Year 1, Day 152: green green green

I appreciate: Green.

  1. Our living room walls are green — and this color is not only soothing, but represents a truly miraculous convergence of 4 people’s individual aesthetics.
  2. Lots of really beautiful rocks are green. I especially like malachite and all the different kinds of jasper.
  3. Kermit is green. πŸ™‚ I know It’s not that easy being green, but what a good attitude.

Year 1, Day 151: sleep, sleep, sleep,…peppermint and YouTube

I appreciate:

  1. (and am fixated on) sleep. Didn’t get much last night and WOW does that make me appreciate the times when I do get enough sleep! πŸ™‚   [okay, seriously? Here are the next appreciations flitting through my mind: pillows, blankets, quilt, nighttime, naptime, rest time….] Give me a minute. I’ll figure out something new – and not sleep-related – that I appreciate…
  2. Peppermint. Delicious tea (and good for tummy aches) and such a bright, wakeful scent/flavor.
  3. YouTube. I was looking for a song to post and stumbled upon this cat, caught in the act. πŸ˜›

Year 1, Day 150: paradox, dishwasher, surrender

I appreciate:

  1. Grumpy CimmyCat who yowls for attention, then purrs so loudly you can hear it across the room, and then, while purring, yowls again. My little paradox of fur and whiskers!
  2. My dishwasher. While there is something meditative and relaxing about hand-washing dishes, today it is lovely to only have to stand long enough to put them in the dishwasher and to be able to sit here and listen to dishes getting clean. A different kind of meditation. πŸ˜›
  3. Surrender. I’d planned to go back to the office today, back to “normal” life, but woke up much more tired and shaky than expected (no fever, though!!) and have decided to surrender to that tiredness. More napping and working from home today. Surrender.
