Year 1, Day 169: cleaning, helping, eating, distractions

I appreciate:

  • My clean-out-the-inbox routine. So nice to have no emails in the inbox at 6:52 am.
  • My daughter, who worked really hard all day, helping me clean and organize, kept us company, and provided hugs as needed. β™₯
  • Dinner with Katie, Ellis, and Ruby last night. Delicious food, beautiful company and just exactly what we needed. πŸ™‚
  • Timberwolves game on TV to occupy Pat, who’s getting a little tired of being a little tired. Thank goodness for happy distractions!

Year 1, Day 167: little family, HUGE theater, average-sized scissors

I appreciate:

  1. My wonderful little family. Already the kids are stepping up and providing amazing caring and support (and helping me with those dishes!).
  2. HUGE Theater, for giving me a really lovely distraction for a bit last night. Off Book was, once again, magnificent. I especially loved the brilliant work of Molly and Sarah. β™₯
  3. Scissors. (Especially really sharp ones.) Yeah, I know. That appreciation doesn’t really fit, but I used some this morning and you have to admit, they’re super handy! They cut things knives don’t work well for, and using scissors is far superior to tearing things or trying to use your teeth. So, yeah, I do appreciate scissors. πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 166: snow, health care, friends, daisies

Last night, we got some bad news about the reason for Pat’s stomach pain. We are working to keep a positive outlook, but welcome all your good thoughts! Meanwhile, I will continue to do my best to look for what is good.

I appreciate:

  • I appreciate the beautiful sparkly snow last night. Made our ride home (at 1 am) so quiet and pretty.
  • I appreciate having access to excellent health care!  I especially appreciate the incredibly friendly and gentle people working in the ER last night – everyone from the person who checked us in, to the nurses and doctor.
  • I appreciate my wonderful friends, who are already sending us so much love and support.
  • And I appreciate the yellow daisies I got for Pat the other day. They seem even friendlier today, somehow. πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 165: auto-fill, sleeping dog, logo votes

I appreciate:

  1. Okay, I know I appreciated this once before, but I’m still so delighted to have learned about auto-filling cells in Google spreadsheets! It only took 2 seconds to set up my February appreciation tab!
  2. I am grateful for the sound of Gracie sleeping, since it means she’s not whining and that she must be a least a little comfortable.
  3. I also appreciate everyone who took time to vote and comment on the current batch of logo designs. Thank you! It is extremely helpful to get feedback on these. πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 162: car, Sara, figuring things out

I appreciate:

  1. My car. I’m sure I’ve appreciated it before, but it really is so nice to drive a car that works well, doesn’t use much gas, and is, well, pretty. I’m just feeling especially grateful for it today!
  2. Sara. It’s such a joy to get to work with someone as brilliant, dedicated, and funny as Sara. Lucky lucky lucky me!
  3. Knowing that I can figure things out. Since I started my business knowing nothing about the how to build or maintain websites, and having learned about and solved numerous issues since then, I’ve learned that most “problems” can be solved, and that there’s usually some kind of “adventure” along the way. πŸ˜› I don’t feel that way EVERY day, but enough of them so that my job is mostly fun fun fun.

Year 1, Day 161: great days, improv joys, impervious optimism

I appreciate:

  1. Days so filled with good things to do that I almost forget to post my appreciations. πŸ˜›
  2. The absolute joy of improvising with the Urbane Gorillas & hanging out with them after rehearsal …and the yummy new drink Kathleen and I discovered at the Republic. Yummy.
  3. My undying optimism which leads me to believe that maybe THIS will be the week I accomplish everything on my to-do list. Hahaha!

Year 1, Day 160: learning, snowing, Minnesota heat waves

I appreciate:

  1. The excitement of learning a new craft. There’s still so much good stuff to learn about improv!
  2. The fact that the rainy-sleety-hail that was falling when I left for class had turned to beautiful big snowflakes by the time I left.
  3. Getting to have all this pretty snow — and warm temperatures. 30ΒΊ feels balmy!
