Year 1 Day 236 and 237: sister-aunt-mama, medical test, spinach salad, performing, flowers, cats

I appreciate:

The fact that Miss R asked Katie, “Do you want to go get your sister, Aunt Dinana?” the other day. Awesome on SO many levels!

Helpful tests and clever people who are working with me on my new health adventure: the return of pericarditis. Aha. THAT explains a lot of my challenges these past few months…

Pizza Luce’s spinach salad. Seriously. Yum.

That I get to play in a show at HUGE again tonight! How cool is that?!

The forest of flowers Patrick Boyle brought home to me to cheer me up on Friday. Sweet man!

Cats. They’re just good fun.

Year 1 Day 235: RLO, words, improv

I appreciate:

  • Getting to work with RLO-Rachel Loeslie Organizing to make my office navigable and pleasant to work in. No more working at the dining room table!
  • My brother’s description of his memory, from an email last night: “…a bit less than spectacularly accurate.” (Oh, and happy birthday, Jeff. It’s your birthday today. In case you forgot…)
  • New improv classes starting this week for Katie and me. Fun fun fun fun fun!

Year 1 Day 234: thundersnow, snow fly, snow trees

I appreciate:

  • The weirdness of thundersnow. (Not the ACTUAL snow, which was kind of a bummer to drive in this morning!)
  • The weirdness of seeing this fly crawling on top of the snow. He looked cold.
  • Despite the yucky drive, I do appreciate how pretty the trees look with the heavy snow on them. Stunning.

Year 1 Day 232: care, service, perspective, support

I appreciate:

  • The excellent care we’re getting at Abbott. Just met with with a NP yesterday and learned about some more excellent resources.
  • GreenDarlene — one of the wonderful services we just learned about. What an amazing service for people undergoing chemo!
  • Perspective. Though I’ve been bemoaning the challenges Pat’s had with chemo, we learned yesterday that many people undergoing this particular kind of chemo are sick for 7-10 days after treatment. 3-4 days we can do…especially given our…
  • Amazing support network. You all are wonderful. People are still bringing us meals, and offering help. We are incredibly fortunate!

Year 1 Day Day 231: playing with gorillas, awesome audience, repeat, sprinkles

I appreciate:

  • Playing with the Gorillas at HUGE last night. O. M. G. That was amazing!
  • The awesome audience at HUGE last night — you made the set so much fun!
  • The fact that I get to do it all over again on April 14, 21, and 28th. If you’re in town, come on out and see us!
  • That yesterday, as I was leaving, Miss R took my hand to look at my fingernails and said, “I like your sprinkles!”
