Appreciations Year Three: Day 231

The incredible people in my life. I am continually grateful for the amazingly sweet, funny, supportive, brilliant, creative, wonderful people I encounter every day. ❤

Appreciations Year Three: Day 230

My super awesome cheering section of friends and family. What a wonderful deluge of funny and happify-ing things today! I am so lucky to have comfort and care all around me when I need it. ❤

Numbers and license plates getting together to try to cheer me up with numeric fun. Within the space of 5 minutes I saw plates that started with 888, 666, and 333. I do love patterns.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 227

Reading through last year’s appreciations in my spreadsheet. Remember that time I went to NOLA with Debb & Libby and had a completely awesome time?! 🙂

Super fun lunch with Danny yesterday. Haiku’s clear broth is inexplicably delicious and our conversation was, as always, lively and fun. AND we learned the super important lesson (based on our scientific experiment) that we can make eye contact for a really really long time and it doesn’t get weird. Which is weird, right?! 😛

Pam for about a billion reasons, but today for having introduced me to Haiku in the first place.

Aha – finally remembered to look up the ice cube oddities I keep finding and now I know. (And now you can know, too: https://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/icespikes/icespikes.htm )

Terri, also for about a billion reasons not the least of which is being born. (Happy birthday, friend!)

So much fun seeing people from all different parts of my life in one place today!

Super amazingly fun workshop of Bryce’s new narrative idea. I can’t even believe how much fun that is.

Having a life so full up with people I adore. Seriously so grateful for all the twists and turns of my life that led me to each and every one of ’em.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 222

Day 222. Hahaha! I love that.

My strangely relaxing ride with Alison yesterday. 😉

Super fun rehearsal for musical improv. Oh yeah — the marriage of my two loves. Geek heaven.

Running errands today – so super fast and efficient. Crazy!

Alison, who just cracks me up and brightens up my life. How’s your hammy, friend? Bwahahaha!

Glitter markers, hugs, real smiles that go all the way to the eyes, good news, computer sounds, buds on my lilac, bacon, my glasses, the smell and feel of a freshly laundered pillow case at the end of a long day.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 220

Sunshine that sticks around all day. How sunny my mood is on days like this!

Working on projects I enjoy. Did I mention how much I like my job?! 😉

Hang out time with Sarah and Ida. Oooooh all the smiles and giggles and squeals and happy sounds… some from me, some from Ida. 🙂

Things getting better and easier the more I expect them to be better and easier.

Slip-on shoes, kangaroos, happy news, thoughts I choose, a restful snooze, good tattoos, Choses qui m’amuse. Accidental-then-on-purpose rhyming… in 2 languages.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 219

Waking up just as the sun crested the horizon and filled my office with a blaze of light. Gorgeous!

Last night’s dinner. For you “normal” people who actually cook, this would probably be underwhelming, but for someone like me (who never, ever cooks anything more complex than eggs or toast), a spinach-onion-chicken-cashew-wild rice thingy is pretty freaking awesome. 🙂

Looking forward to a little Ruby time today. Hooray!

The smell of sawdust and the memory of being so excited by the possibilities presented by all the tools in my dad’s workshop, the sound of waves washing over the shore and pulling all the little pebbles back with them, word games, puns, penguins, salt, double rainbows.

Cheetahs, trees, gluten-free pasta that doesn’t fall apart, rows and rows of tulips, the smell of freshly ground coffee, laughing so hard my eyes water, the fact that my todo list says resume work, meaning work on my résumé, but looks like it is just time to go back to work.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 217

Meetings that go really, really well.

More fun with license plate words (pry guy net new hum due hat hug eve). Suddenly doing errands is so much more fun.

The word “cloudy” starting at 1:34 of this video (https://youtu.be/oGB1VYqxPEM). It makes me giggle and say the word over and over trying to get it just right. It will probably not affect you the same way….

A forecast that includes 66º. Woohoo!

David, for lending me his tablet to read the awesome awesome kindle book Pam gave me. What nice friends I have. ❤

Winnie the Pooh, neatly stacked books, petrichor (both the scent and the word — and the fact that there IS a word for it!), fingernail clippers, paper, tasty rice.

Finally getting some work done on a project that’s been hard to dig in to.

A wonderful rehearsal with the funny and fabulous Alison. So. Fun!

Avoiding one project by doing another. Hahaha! Hello newly organized desk drawers. 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 213

The very exciting mystery of the cheerio trail, which Katie and I picked up at the end of the block and followed to the middle of the street 6 blocks away… One or two cheerio clues every 6-30 feet or so…. Hmmmm. Some treachery is afoot. (Well, if you step on the cheerios barefoot, that is.) 😛

The silly fun of clock watching and cheering at 1:23:45 am. Yeah, David and I really know how to have fun.

The even goofier fun of my own cheer back at home at 2:34:56 am. (Goofy because I know if f I stay up that late I am GOING TO BE TIRED the next day.) 😉

Sunlight and shadows on my walls. How I love the sun at this time of year.
