Appreciations 4.272 – good news

Amazingly fun and productive meeting with Sara. I am incredibly grateful to know and work with her. I feel like we always manage to enjoy our friendship AND get work done at these meetings. What a joy!

Interesting and amusing visit with Jeff today (with bonus errands and ride to my appointment). I’m so happy to have him here in MN!!

di-drivingFabulous news from my PA Amy today — I get to drive again!!! Just short distances and no freeway driving, but it feels so exciting to have a little autonomy again! Plus, lots of other reassurances and helpful info like the fact that lots of people in my situation have anxiety and PTSD issues (I’m not alone!) AND the side effect of my anti-arrhythmic med that can cause skin to turn blue is, in fact, rare. Amy has only seen one case of it in 16 years at the heart clinic. I’m SO happy to stop worrying about turning into a smurf. πŸ˜‰

Scrumptious and delightful dinner with Ruby and Terri and then reading and snuggles with Ruby. What a wonderfully sweet evening. ❀

Appreciations 4.269 – Diana and the wonderful, excellent, all good, very fine day

πŸ˜€Β So many sweet moments today. I like the feeling that I am learning to hold the truth of the challenges in my life right alongside the truth of the beauty inΒ my life.

Today I got to spend time with Katie, including a walk up to the coffee shop where the barista pulled out my favorite pastry as I walked up to the counter and then asked if I wanted an Americano. (I did!) I love the familiar friendly faces of the folks at Royal Grounds!

This excellent day also included getting more work done than I have most days lately. That felt great.

What else? Oh, right, the magnificent weather. Gorgeous.

Also, goslings! So adorable!IMG_9783

Another spectacular part of the day included walking around Linden Hills with the kids when we went to pick up Cina’s birthday cake at Sebastian Joe’s. On our way back to the car (which we’d parked at Lake Harriet), we met a family out for a walk who asked us to take their picture…because they were out on their baby’s first walk!! Took some photos and chatted with the beaming mom and dad and grandparents, who introduced us to 1-week old Lincoln. And that tiny, gorgeous little creature took my finger and held on tight. What a magical moment we got to be part of.

My sweet day concluded with a lovely conversation reconnecting with my dear friend Terri. I am incredibly thankful for her, and for the other fascinating, thoughtful, open-hearted people in my life.

And I love that I’m recording this so I can re-experience this deep sense of well-beingΒ another day whenΒ I might need it. πŸ™‚

Fabulous meeting with Sara at Shish yesterday – so productive and fun! Delicious food, great service, and the most hilarious music from long ago. Sara said we must’ve been listening to the Forgotten Music Station. I felt like I was 10 years old and had to keep reminding myself that we were having a meeting and it wasn’t time to dance. πŸ˜€

Another awesome meeting with John this morning – more good work peppered with sweetness and fun. I like my job!

Finishing the kitchen backsplash project. Yippee! It looked so fresh and pretty when it was done, but before all the stuff was back. Still looks pretty good, though. πŸ˜‰

A wonderful visit with Sarah and Ida at MIA. What a fun morning!

Springlike weather!

Somehow getting my newsletter out while it was still technically January, despite my surprise feline-emergency, sleep-deprived weekend. Thank you, past Diana, for creating an editorial calendar, and putting all that info in one place. πŸ™‚

Another inspiring client meeting this morning! πŸ’—

New calendarTrying out a new way to keep on top of Skynote tasks. We’ll see how THIS works! Thanks for the idea, Alison. πŸ˜€

Washing my clothes IN MY OWN HOME! Okay, sorry I shouted, but seriously this is soooooooooooooo exciting.

The way something you totally took for granted can seem like such a tremendous gift when you’ve gone without it for awhile. πŸ™‚

Our little heat wave. It felt positively balmy out there today. πŸ™‚

Another excellent DDP coworking day with Amy and Allison, both of whom know how to spell their names. πŸ˜€

Another fabulous pre-9 pm bedtime. Sleeping is fun!

Appreciations 4.141 – bedraggled beginnings

Waking up feeling bedraggled after a crazy no-sleep night, only to remember that my first thing to do was to have an inspiring, productive, and fun meeting with the charming Johnny Linn! πŸ˜€ What an excellent way to start the day!

Knocking off some pesky little taskies that usually hang around for ages before I get to them. Feels great to get right to ’em!

9 pm bedtime. Yup. It’s a wild life I live. πŸ˜‰

My fascinating, ever-changing, always interesting job. What wonderful meetings I’ve had this week. I love my clients so much.

Having a schedule that allows me to work a little, rest a little, work a little, rest a little. So grateful for that flexibility!

Scarves. Very nice for keeping some of the cold out. πŸ˜‰

Playing with the design for this blog. Fun! πŸ˜€

Appreciations 4.119 – All the weathers!

The funny weather yesterday! In the space of an hour, it thundered (while snowing big wet flakes), snowed regular snow, snow-water globuled (I think that’s the technical term…), drizzled, and at one time was sort of snow-raining while the sun was shining. ALL THE WEATHERS! πŸ˜€

Another day of loving my work so much. Even though I didn’t get to do much of it (this cold is knocking the stuffing out of me!), I sure do like the bits I got to do!

Settling down for a quiet evening with the lights off (except on the tree and around the windows), sitting next to purring kitties, and listening to a story. If I have to have a cold, this is the best way to do it! πŸ™‚

Super fun coffee date with Laura yesterday! It’s so great to have her living in the same town! πŸ™‚

Really busy work week. Busy doing work I love for clients I love who are each doing something I really believe in. Pretty awesome! πŸ’—

IMG_3683Driving home around the lakes. I was feeling pretty beat from a long day, but then looked across Lake Calhoun and saw my beloved city. It took my breath away.Β  My phone camera doesn’t do it justice, but you get the idea. πŸ˜‰

Looking forward to singing with the Earthtones at ASI tomorrow! Come see us! πŸ˜€
