Appreciations 4.48 – words, colors, warmth, helpful folks

More delightful words I encountered today: Sanguine. Propinquity.

trees on pleasant 10:7:15Colors. I realize I talk about/appreciate them every day, but wowsers. The view down this street is just going to get more and more amazing during the next week or so. So fun to watch the transition! Those flaming leaves against the azure sky are just knocking my socks off.

Socks off! Sandal weather on October 7th! True, I added long pants and a sweater, but still. Glorious weather for a midday walk!

The helpful people of Minneapolis. Clearly this planter was having some trouble seeing, so somebody found it a pair of glasses so it could see the fall leaves, too. πŸ˜› planter with glasses

My completely awesome job. I get to do work I love with people I love. So lucky!

Getting to see and talk with John today! How great are video chats? So great! πŸ™‚

fall flowers and leavesFinding time for a walk today. Ohhhhhhhh that sunshine. I love the late afternoon quietness of the city after kids get out from school and before folks are getting home from work. Bliss.

Gorgeous weather. Those blue skies! That sunshine! I love it.

Driving home around the lakes with the windows open. The water was soooo blue and the breeze was just right.

Seeing a big group of people on Segways at the lake. There was something inexplicably delightful about the sight of all those people on Segways, all smiling, laughing, taking photos and videos. They looked like they were having so much fun! πŸ™‚

Katie’s birth day, all those many years ago. What an amazing adventure began that day! ❀ ❀ ❀ Happy birthday to my fascinating, funny, bright, beautiful, snarky, sweet kid! πŸ˜€

(And as a gift to you, Katie, I took out “smart” from that sentence since I knew it would bug you to have two alliterative couplets and one triplet. You are welcome. πŸ˜‰ )

Sweet, misty, sleepy morning. I like this time of changing weather!

My wonderful, inspiring clients. I was a little fuzzy today, not sure how much work I’d accomplish after another not-so-sleep-filled night, but after researching reasons that giving is good for our health for one newsletter, and reading and finding images for another truly beautiful newsletter/blog, I find I have more energy now than I did when I got up this morning.

Ellen Swanson’s energy, passion, gentleness, and wonderful work. Every single interaction I have with her makes me smile. Yes, even our business as usual emails about getting things done. I am so lucky to get to work with her. I can’t recommend her work highly enough. You can read her thoughtful and thought-provoking blog here: healingthehierarchy.com/blog/ (and you can learn about and buy her book, Heart, Gut, Head: Creating a Healthier Hierarchy.) If you like it, please share it with others. It is changing my world!

The hilarity of not remembering to post my appreciations on World Gratitude Day. Hahaha! Funny. πŸ˜€

More gorgeous weather for another wonderful walk. Every time I get to be out in the sweet sunshine, I feel so happy.

The profound joy of reconnecting with and singing with my beloved Earthtones. Oh how I missed you all! And oh, how much I forgot about how funny and challenging it is to learn music in other languages. Wheeeee!

The cozy comfort of putting warm-from-the-dryer sheets onto the bed, then immediately slipping in to go to sleep. Mmmmmm.

Another productive, satisfying, and fun DPP Study Group meeting with Amy & Alison.Β  I always learn sooooooo much. πŸ˜‰
Interesting weather today – cool, warm, rainy, steamy, cooler, thundery, dry. Oh Autumn, you are such a funny time. πŸ™‚
Colored pens. I write a lot and they make the writing of things even more fun. πŸ˜€

Appreciations 4.1

New year of appreciations – new nomenclature. I wonder if I’ll like it! Good thing I can change my mind if I want to. πŸ™‚

Remembering how challenging it felt way back at the beginning, when I was just going to do this for 21 days. I’d sometimes have to wrack my brain to think of what I appreciated. How simple it seems now. Well…most days! πŸ˜‰

All the towels clean at one time!

Funny weather – so hot, then so cool, then hot again. Wheeeee.

Unexpected sweet words at unexpected times. What a treat. ❀

Planning fun plans. I like that!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 355

Sunny and slightly cooler, less humid weather. Gorgeous!

The funny little signals I get that my iron is getting low again…whenever ice starts to seem like a delicious meal, I know it’s time to increase my iron intake. πŸ˜›

The feeling of lightness I’m getting as I continue decluttering and downsizing. After my bedroom is painted, I’m only moving things back in that give me joy. How lovely.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 335

Cindy’s hilarious cat postΒ https://youtu.be/C6-NdOPXYYQ and Debb’s idea for dentist waiting room conga lines, both of which had me giggling out loud during my wait at the dentist this morning. πŸ˜€

Project 7:21:15 1 Project 7:21:15 2

More expert advice and plus help on the room project from Mom, Dad, and Mckenzie. We are making good progress (though it looks much the same): seams and corners sanded and 2nd layer of mud applied, window framing project two well underway.

The huge pile of books Robby brought me the other day. Looks like I’m set for the next couple months. πŸ™‚

Gorgeous weather for an evening walk.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 321

Perfect sunny, warm-but-not-hot day with blue skies and a gorgeous lake.

sand castle 7-15 Someone’s diligent sand-castling.

Wonderful little canoe trip with my dad down to the creek including a visit from a loon, who floated along beside us (well 10 feet away, but much closer than usual) for a minute. ❀

late night puzzle

Silly late night puzzle completion (using our flashlights on our phones) with my mom and Debb. It was well past bed time, but we did it!
