Ida 2016Awesomeย morning with Sarah and Ida, picking out paint samples, making plans, giggling, and having fun. ๐Ÿ˜€

Lovely cooler weather and nice breeze made for a really comfortable walk — and comfortable yard work. Look ma, no sweat! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The wonderful people in my life, offering so much support, love, and comfort as I traverse this new PTSD/depression terrain (or as Katie calls it, my mental illness sampler platter…) I am incredibly fortunate to have these amazing people in my life.ย โค

Tin man 2016My new Tin Man and his awesome heart. ๐Ÿ˜€ Thank you for the funny, sweet gift, Debb. It made me giggle. I love him!

Unbelievable love, comfort, and support from the kids last night when a dizzy spell that felt like the beginning of a faint (which is how last week’s events began) triggered my first ever panic attack. It is a strange and scary thing to have your body doing fight or flight things even after you’ve calmed your thoughts. We got my dizziness, chills and violent shaking under control after about an hour or so, thanks to their good suggestions and all the blankets and all the pillows and all the heating pads. Since I’d never experienced anything like this, even after everything settled down, I was a little scared of having another one… so we decided to play catch with a cat toy that was nearby as a way to keep me distracted…and both of the cats joined in. Everybody was helping me! For any of you who deal with this kind of thing on a regular basis, I am sending you so much love. So much love.

Monet Mar 2016Getting my Monet poster framed and hung at last. I love it so much.

Terrific meeting with Jerilyn this morning. How exciting to have support, encouragement, and a plan for my new project!

Wonderful dinner with the whole family at Jeff & Laura’s. So great to see everyone. (And to get some of Laura’s amazingly delicious gluten-free pulla. Yum!) It was so so so much fun hanging out after dinner and playing silly games. I appreciate and like my family so much!!

Gluten-free stuffing that tastes like stuffing. Yay! And since I’m the only one here who’ll eat it I have enough for the whole next week! ๐Ÿ˜€

Year 1, Day 53: husband hero, dish-doer, supportive spouse

I appreciate my hubby and my hero, Patrick Boyle, who:

  1. Got up (uncomplainingly) 1 1/2 hours early today, and has pretty much put his own life on hold these past few weeks, to take care of his mom
  2. Does the dishes and cleans up the kitchen every night
  3. Supports me and says, “You can do it!” no matter what new idea I’m trying out. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, my friends. โ™ฅ

Year 1, Day 8: massage, uke, support network

1. I am grateful for the massage I got this morning! Thanks, Jen!
2. I appreciate my awesome tenor uke – even though I still can’t really play it. ๐Ÿ˜›
3. I am so grateful for my vast support network…whether I’m trying to solve a parenting issue, understand css, write more songs, achieve better health…I have so many people I can turn to. Lucky me! ๐Ÿ™‚
