Appreciations 4.64

Waking up grumpy and thinking, “Huh. That’s weird. I wonder why I’m grumpy. Oh, well. I’m sure I won’t be after a while.” Nice to know that moods are just moods and that there’s no real need to “fix” anything when new moods show up. 😉

Ooooooh what a downpour this morning. And now my lawn is covered in glistening, bright yellow elm leaves from my neighbor’s tree. How pretty!

rose quartz oct 2015Rose quartz. I have rocks of various kinds all over the house, but I especially love this big piece of rose quartz that sits on my desk and keeps me company while I work. 🙂

Appreciations 4.29

The sound of the rain on the roof. Makes everything feel so cozy inside, just right for drinking a nice cup of coffee and working, and later, a drinking a nice cup of tea and working, and even later, drinking another cup of tea and snuggling up with a purring feline. 😉

Jimmy D Fall Reunion 2015Diana & Sarah Jimmy D Fall Reunion 2015Sussman and Rindo Jimmy D fall reunion 2015Alison’s “let’s get a photo” mantra. I never think to do that — and thanks to Alison, we always get some great shots of our outings. Thank you, my sweet friend! ❤

stained glass window sept 2015Standing in the freshly cleaned kitchen, turning out the lights, and looking out at the stained glass windows of the church through the dark branches of the trees. Beautiful.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 363

Sitting by the window working, listening to the rain. What a cozy sound!

Tazo teas.

Finally finished painting my bedroom! Now the fun part – rearranging furniture, going through the stuff that lived in my room before the project – and only keeping joy-sparking things. I see another trip to drop off donations in my future. 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 361

Fun evening hanging out with David last night…though I really need to remember not to stay up so late! 😛
Sweet gray, rainy, thundery day. Made for a cozy day to stay in.

Room project #3 complete! Yay! Made progress on room project #2 today, too — I think we’ll be able to finish tomorrow! Then no more projects for awhile. 😉

Listening to my achy head and going to bed early – before 10 pm!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 287

screen-captureLast month’s purply-bluesy appreciation spreadsheet. 😉

Thundery rainy fun day.

My fun job. I get to learn new stuff all the time, teach people stuff, help people reach their goals, and meet the coolest people. More fun client meetings today!

Curly hair, stamps, cinnamon, ducks, herons, heroines, camp fires, rivers, bacon, art.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 277

Heating pad to soothe achy muscles and hot tea to soothe a sore throat.

Figuring out that sometimes when you sleep 4-5 hours more than usual in a given day, it means your immune system is busy, not that you’re just tired. 😉

Rainy weekend for making days of napping and resting seem like the exactly right option (though I’m sorry for those of you whose plans were adversely affected by the rain!).

Nice little visit from my folks today. How sweet that they brought me flowers!

These sounds: rain on the roof, cats purring and snoring, quiet clock ticking in a still house, cars driving through puddles and making splashy splashy sounds.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 232

800px-Raindrops_on_waterWaking up to the sound of rain on the roof. What a cozy sound.

So much fun playing and talking with my improv buddies – and making new improv buddies! That was super fun, Katie!

The hilarity of watching my brain try to work on too little sleep. Nice try, brain. You just hang in there and see what you can do. 😉

Hearing from someone weeks after a class I taught that they really loved it and are having fun using the new tools we used that day in their improv. What a great feeling!

Trying new things, the comfort of rituals and patterns, smartass friends who make me giggle, rhyming silliness (you could have cous cous with goose, or try wild rice with mice), lakes, rivers, ponds, streams, chickens, ducks, and rainbows.

Year 1, Day 105: rain, awards at HUGE, Molly

I appreciate:

  1. Today’s rain. Of course it’d be nicer if it was snow — but we’ll take whatever precipitation we can get!
  2. The Improviser of the Year Awards at HUGE last night. What a ridiculously lovely and amazing group of people! ♥
  3. Thanks to Molly from whom I stole the wording “ridiculously lovely and amazing.” A perfect description of the event – and the community. 🙂

Year 1, Day 64: rain, carefulness, soup?

I appreciate:

  1. Waking up to the sound of pouring rain at 6 am….wasn’t so sure about the 6 am part, but lying in bed listening to October rain is a cozy treat. 🙂
  2. Our newspaper carrier’s careful tying of the plastic bag around the paper so it wouldn’t get wet.
  3. Today’s perfect soup-making weather. Maybe today’s the day I actually do it. Hahaha!
