Rose july 2016Delicious, revivifying coffee! πŸ˜‰

Another wonderfully productive work session with Ellis. I am so grateful for her company! It really helps me do things I’m not able to do when I’m alone — and even inspired more productivity this afternoon after our time was done. Thank you, sweet friend, for your wonderful energy!!

Roses in the rain..gorgeous glowing growth against gray skies. πŸ˜€

Appreciations 4.297-4.305

The past few weeks have been a bit of a challenge for me. Anxiety and depression (both very common after a vfib / ICD shock experience like I had in March) have made it difficult to function. I am incredibly grateful to the understanding people in my life, beautiful friends, excellent therapist and docs, and the other lovely folks I encounter when I get out of the house. πŸ™‚

After yesterday’s visit with the advanced heart failure specialist, I am feeling a bit more hopeful, a bit less anxious, and hope to return to my optimistic, appreciative, joyful self soon. For now, one day at a time. Today is a better day — so I can finally post the appreciations I’ve at least managed to jot down during the past week or so. πŸ˜€

4.298.Β  Rain. Thunder. My wonderful and trusted therapist, Lynn.

4.299.Β  Mini visit with Katie. Our fun cat water fountain. Ricola cough drops.

4.300.Β  Coffee with Katie – and the straw wrapper heart she made for me. Sunshine.Β  Cina telling me I’m rad and MVP. ❀ Time with Terri, Ellis, and Ruby. Ruby’s drawings and the flower she gave me (which is, apparently, edible and “tastes like salad!”).

4.301. Time with the kids. Painting side door. Yummy coffee.

4.302. Fun BLT father’s day party at Jeff & Laura’s. The sweet smell of sycamore trees. Puppy cuddles.

Appreciations 4.287 – magnificent human beings

Oh my wonderful, darling clients. I am continually amazed at my good fortune to get to work with such magnificent human beings. πŸ˜€

Debb's giftDennis’s sweet, funny card, and Debb’s sweet surprise gift that came in the mail today! Remember those magnificent human beings I told you about?! It’s not just my clients. ❀

Great gullywashing rain. What fun to sit on my couch and watch it come down!

Appreciations 4.266 – sun and rainbow drops

sun-and-rainbow-dropsIt was fun to see the sunshine for a few minutes yesterday. Even that little break from the rain made it possible for me to wake up loving the sound of the drip drops on my roof today.

Reacquainting myself with laughter. Oh, right… that thing I love to do! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Good news from my tests this week: normal pulmonary function (which is a great thing if you’re using the meds I’m on!) AND bonus hemoglobin of 12.3. way to go, body!!

Pixabay, whose images I use for all sorts of things – including teaching myself photoshop!

A no-appointment day that allows me some uninterrupted work time! I’m already down from 29 messages in my Action folder to 11. Yay!

The delicious meal from Shish that Sara delivered! My progress is more up and down than I expected, making it a truly welcome gift last night!!

Lovely phone call with David. He always makes me laugh. πŸ˜€

Watching the rain pour down from partly cloudy skies. Fun to see the raindrops against a light sky in the background. πŸ™‚

Comforting distractions for a day on the couch. I like having books to listen to, shows to watch, sweet sounds like the cats playing, birds, rain. I am also looking forward to the effects of this med dissipating so I can be up and at it again soon!

IMG_4191Mckenzie made me some gluten-free apple fritters! Yum.

The lovely people in my household who tolerated my Day of Grumpiness and didn’t take it personally.

Rain.

The fun of running errands in pouring rain last night. Our first really rainy day of the season. How lovely to be out in it for a bit!

Finally getting some work done on the kitchen backsplash project. Hooray! It’s been in its unfinished state for sooooo long. What a relief to finally be getting it spruced up!

Remembering more sweet details of my visit with Sarah last weekend: truly gorgeous wind chimes – beautifully deep and sonorous, but somehow soft and vibrant, too; the sweet golden retriever puppy trotting up to the fence to say hello, tail awag and nuzzling our hands for petting; Ida, happily sitting on the sidewalk, taking things out of my purse one by one and handing them to me or Sarah. πŸ’—

Pretty pre-storm weather. I’m glad Sammy and I got our long walk in before the storm blew in!

Listening to the thunder and rain. Feels odd in November, but I like the sounds no matter when they happen. πŸ™‚ Last year we had several inches of snow!

The funny contrast of hanging out with a dog all day and cats all evening. I kept thinking today that dogs should purr, too. When I told Sammy that, he just wiggled his eyebrows at me. I don’t know what that means in dog-talk! πŸ˜›

Warm sweaters and blankets and scarves, oh my. I like feeling cozy when it starts to get cold outside!
