Appreciations 4.259 -Mm hmmmmmm

Fri to done listToday’s to-done list! I haven’t had too many productive days like this since I got out of the hospital. How wonderful to feel my energy returning! Mmhmm.

lilacs may 6 smallerOh the lilacs and their delicious smell. I love love love lilac time! We do miss our elm tree, but without it, our lilac bush by the front door gets more light, so it is FULL of blossoms this year. Mmmmm.

I love walking through my neighborhood so much! I especially love those moments in between the hum of cars and people and airplanes that get filled with a vibrant chorus of bird song. Mmmmm.

Appreciations 4.180 – versions of me

Rainbow heartI love this surprisingly productive version of me who’s been showing up the past couple days. She somehow managed today to sort and file ALL the papers. And I really mean ALL of them. Want to know where birth certificates are? How about LLC Articles of Organization? Furnace installation paperwork? Car repair records? Yup. I can find ’em. After months and months of untangling and merging files (turns out one of the hardest things about divorce is the paperwork…) :P, I now know where everything is! Not only that, this fascinating creature also made all the calls that had been put off AND got regular work done. Who IS this person?! 😉

I love the kitties who purred and pounced and played with me while all this was going on. 😀

I also loved listening to the birds singing this morning. How spring-y sounding!

Planning plans rather than outcomes. Oh, it makes things so easy. 😀

Really long, but productive work day. So many interesting projects to play with!!

Two great visits in one little day – time with Debb and Katie! Super fun!

Little multi-channel technochat with darling Pamela. Lucky me!

Temperate weather. It’s almost balmy, 🙂

Productive day doing about a thousand errands with Mckenzie. It sure is nice to have good company when you’ve got places to go and things to do. 😉

Getting a big chunk of holiday stuff accomplished. Feeling more settled now!

Appreciations 4.45

Another gorgeous morning spent with my sweet friend Sarah and darling Ida. Walked up to the Farmer’s Market and around the ‘hood. Pure bliss on so many levels. ❤

veggie scrambleDelicious farm veggie scramble with today’s farmer’s market haul – zucchini, scallions, tomatoes, and spinach. Yum!

Despite starting the day low on energy, I got a second wind late this afternoon… and finished out the day pretty darn satisfied – besides my awesome morning with the Duncan girls, I got a new cover letter and resume written, went to the laundromat and got all the laundry cleaned, folded, and put away, bought groceries, cleaned the kitchen, and logged more than 12,000 steps for the day. Phew. And now to bed…. 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 338

A day with perfectly timed texts, phone calls, and arrivals.

The ginormous mushroom growing in our yard!

A productive day in which we made and went to a bajillion appointments, fixed the toilet (yes!) ourselves, tidied up the hall closet (using the KonMari method [ http://tidyingup.com/ ] both Sarah and Kari told me about last weekend!). I don’t have before pics, but here are the afters. Before it was the closet from hell, spewing boxes of kleenex and other items onto you if you dared to open it. 😛

But wait…that’s not all! We also finally finished mudding, sanding, and cleaning up the seams and corners in the downstairs bedroom so we can move on to painting next. Whew! (After being covered in a fine layer of dust for several days, Mckenzie and I are beyond thrilled to be done with this portion of the project!)

Nice little thunderstorm during the night.

Beautiful blue skies again this morning!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 333

Day 333 of my 3rd year of appreciations, obviously. So many threes! 😉

A productive morning getting more work done on the first room. Guess who knows how to tape a corner bead now? Yup, it’s me. Well, so does Mckenzie. 🙂

We also learned that I already have (and was able to locate!) all the tools we’ll need for the various parts of this project – hack saw, miter box, jigsaw, putty knives, caulk gun, tin snips. Each time we found one of the necessary tools, it was like finding a little treasure!

My Dad’s enthusiasm for helping and showing me how to fix up the room – I’ve never built a custom frame for a window before. Fun!

Wonderful visit with some of the cheezy folks today. It is so great to get a chance to reconnect like this!

Lovely walk with Suz, complete with awesome butterfly dance sighting. At first our little friend was camera shy and wouldn’t sit still, but then we got lucky.

Feeling lighter, happier, and more hopeful than I’ve felt in awhile. Mmmmmm. Nice.

Year 1, Day 90: thoughtfulness, fellow improvisors, productive days

I appreciate:

  1. Anthony, for hosting an awesome party — and for the incredibly sweet and funny words and gifts he bestowed upon us! He is thoughtfulness incarnate. 🙂
  2. My fellow improvisers from Comedy Sportz.  You are brilliant, amazing people and I’m so grateful to be able to count you among my friends!
  3. Having had a productive Friday, thus allowing me to float through today pretty easily. 🙂
