Appreciations 4.151 – modern comforts

Going to sleep on a comfortable bed, under warm, just-out-of-the-dryer sheets (having washed same in my own home) in a warm, not too dry (thanks to the humidifier) room. Starting the day making delicious coffee from freshly-ground beans and water heated on the stove and drinking it from a mug washed while I slept. It’s easy to take these things for granted, but how comfortable and simple they make my days. πŸ™‚

Getting an email from my Dad this morning, letting me know that he had a great night of sleep following yesterday’s laughter yoga. How exciting to see those laughter benefits so quickly! πŸ˜€

My doc’s new practice of using wrap instead of bandaids after a blood draw. Makes for much more comfortable removal. πŸ˜‰

Appreciations – 4.150

You are lovedAnother lovely start to the day – coloring and meditation music. Mmmmm. Used some of that serenity when I went out to find the car wouldn’t start! πŸ˜‰

I love that I had a feeling that I should do errands and come back home before leaving for today’s gigΒ  – instead of stopping on my way out as I’d planned! It gave me enough time to arrange a ride (thanks, Dad!) and get out to Apple Valley in plenty of time to lead laughter yoga. πŸ™‚

So much fun laughing with a big group of engaged, enthusiastic, excellent laughers today! Very good, very good, yay!! πŸ˜€

AAA’s terrific service. I’m glad I got to sit inside my house while I waited for them to come out and jump the car. It was really quick β€” and now my car’s all happy again. πŸ™‚ The friendly, helpful guy who came out said he stopped counting how many jump starts he’d done today after about 60!

Getting through a slue of pesky tasks I’d been putting off. Go, me! πŸ˜‰

The fact that you can spell slue s-l-u-e or s-l-e-w. I like both variations. It makes me LAUGH that the word derives from mid 19th cent Irish SLUAGH. Hahaha!

The fun of getting ready to teach Laughter Yoga again. It’s been awhile. Gonna dust off my hahahas and heeheehees. πŸ˜€

Taking the time for a little coloring meditation this morning. My day feels so much more balanced when I start slowly instead of jumping right into doing. πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 121: wackiness, feedback, open venue

I appreciate the continued wackiness of meeting people out of context! Today’s version:

  • Meeting Mary, my fellow laughter yoga leader, at the bead store (unscheduled stop during errands today).
  • Seeing Elyssa (from my CSz class) at Huge (I was on my way out after rehearsal, she was heading in for class).
  • Ending up in line behind Katie C (whom I haven’t seen in several years and doesn’t live in my neighborhood) at my post office.

So. Much. Fun!

I also appreciate Katie, Ryan, and Pat, for patiently watching and then providing good feedback on the solo improv show I’m working on. πŸ˜‰

And I appreciate the fact that HUGE Theater is letting me try this out tomorrow night! In front of real live people! (Okay, well I both appreciate and am terrified by it….) πŸ˜›

Year 1, Day 113: crabbiness brings gratefulness

I’m crabby today, so it’s especially helpful/challenging πŸ˜‰ to figure out what I appreciate right now. Let’s see… I appreciate:

  • The intrepid travelers who braved the icy roads to come to Laughter Yoga last night and the fun of leading the group (thanks, Jody! Hope you got some sleep!)
  • The awesome show with Andrew Zimmern at HUGE Theater last night.
  • The warmth of my house.
  • The comfort of seeing the kitties and Gracie all snuggled up sleeping in the living room.
  • The generous, caring staff at Wilder who were at today’s meeting and the fact that MIL care is going pretty well for now.
  • The fact that I can once again see the FLOOR in my office (still a long way to go, but at least I can find my desk and actually work there….)
  • The sounds and smells coming from the kitchen, which indicate that Pat is making the Best. Fried. Potatoes. Ever — and knowing he will share them with me. πŸ™‚
  • The fact that we get Katie home again tomorrow. Oh! That’s a good one. Having the whole family around for a month is going to be wonderful. Deep breath of contentment. Yup. Now I can get back to work.

Year 1, Day 92: Mondays, facebook, HUGE playing

I appreciate:

  • Laughter Mondays, laughter yoga and Show X. Mondays are awesome!
  • All the excellent posts on FB today. I love my friends who are, like me, searching for brightness and joy in the world. Nice posts today! β™₯
  • Getting to play at HUGE again tonight – with my brilliant and amazing classmates from 401. We’re gonna try out our new form! πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 50: Kent, transformation, unexpected delights, dance with chair

I appreciate:

  1. Kent, who, on his birthday, posted (on Facebook) this lovely thought, which I want to share with all MY FB friends: You are all dear to me. You all matter. Never imagine that your life doesn’t! πŸ™‚
  2. Last night’s reminder of the power of laughter yoga and community. Thank you, friends, for helping me transform my crabby, headachy, overwhelmed mood into one of peaceful joy
  3. The unexpected delight of learning that a fellow laugher from the laughter yoga club is a HUGE Theater student — and the fun of sitting with her at Show X last night!
  4. Tim Hellendrung’s exquisite dance with a chair, and his impeccable recasting of it in a later scene!
