Appreciations Year Three: Day 239

The joy of reconnecting with and playing with my JimmyD pals. Just the best. ❤

The sounds of springtime walks. I love the ebb and flow of sounds, one moment filled with cars going by, planes flying overhead, passersby talking, birds singing, wind blowing; the next moment a sudden lull with only the sound a my feet on the sidewalk, one lone bird calling out. It never gets old.

Flowers! So many flowers coming up!

Finding the fairly easy-to-rectify reason for my recent fatigue and tendency to get out of breath. Time for some iron supplementation. 😉

Water, fire, earth, air. 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 236

Brilliant rehearsal with musical improv group. I can hardly believe how much fun it is. 🙂

Fabulous afternoon with Alison. How is it that she manages to make a sunny day even sunnier?! ❤ Good thing I had my sunglasses. 😎

Getting to be a fairy with Katie — and how insanely prepared we are for such a thing. 😉 Since it’s our next door neighbor, we even got to see her excited smile as she ran back to the house yelling, “Mama! Mama!” What a gift. And we’ll get to keep doing this for however long she is interested! Looks like it is going to be an awesome summer. 😀

Chat with my bro on his birthday (extra bonus – getting to see a video of him receiving herbs fines from Melanie & Andy). I like my family so much! 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 232

Waking up to the sound of rain on the roof. What a cozy sound.

So much fun playing and talking with my improv buddies – and making new improv buddies! That was super fun, Katie!

The hilarity of watching my brain try to work on too little sleep. Nice try, brain. You just hang in there and see what you can do. 😉

Hearing from someone weeks after a class I taught that they really loved it and are having fun using the new tools we used that day in their improv. What a great feeling!

Trying new things, the comfort of rituals and patterns, smartass friends who make me giggle, rhyming silliness (you could have cous cous with goose, or try wild rice with mice), lakes, rivers, ponds, streams, chickens, ducks, and rainbows.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 227

Reading through last year’s appreciations in my spreadsheet. Remember that time I went to NOLA with Debb & Libby and had a completely awesome time?! 🙂

Super fun lunch with Danny yesterday. Haiku’s clear broth is inexplicably delicious and our conversation was, as always, lively and fun. AND we learned the super important lesson (based on our scientific experiment) that we can make eye contact for a really really long time and it doesn’t get weird. Which is weird, right?! 😛

Pam for about a billion reasons, but today for having introduced me to Haiku in the first place.

Aha – finally remembered to look up the ice cube oddities I keep finding and now I know. (And now you can know, too: https://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/icespikes/icespikes.htm )

Terri, also for about a billion reasons not the least of which is being born. (Happy birthday, friend!)

So much fun seeing people from all different parts of my life in one place today!

Super amazingly fun workshop of Bryce’s new narrative idea. I can’t even believe how much fun that is.

Having a life so full up with people I adore. Seriously so grateful for all the twists and turns of my life that led me to each and every one of ’em.

Day 222. Hahaha! I love that.

My strangely relaxing ride with Alison yesterday. 😉

Super fun rehearsal for musical improv. Oh yeah — the marriage of my two loves. Geek heaven.

Running errands today – so super fast and efficient. Crazy!

Alison, who just cracks me up and brightens up my life. How’s your hammy, friend? Bwahahaha!

Glitter markers, hugs, real smiles that go all the way to the eyes, good news, computer sounds, buds on my lilac, bacon, my glasses, the smell and feel of a freshly laundered pillow case at the end of a long day.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 221

Cloudy, it-might-rain mornings. How different these clouds feel from I’m-not-gonna-rain-just-gonna-hang-out clouds.

Weekend mornings with so many fun choices.

Feeling like most of my choices are pretty fun, including housework, projects, work, cuddling up with the cats, daydreaming.

Looking forward to more improv today!

Finding things: finding time, finding energy, finding money, finding space, finding happiness, and, of course, Finding Nemo.

Finally getting some work done on a project that’s been hard to dig in to.

Avoiding one project by doing another. Hahaha! Hello newly organized desk drawers. 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 211

Gmail. Oh how I love being able to manage all 20 of my email addresses from ONE place. So good.

The little improv micro mini-con at Global Market yesterday. How fun to run into MJ & Jack when I met with Lisa. 🙂

So much fun playing with senses at the HUGE drop in class yesterday. I love the intrepid improvisers who show up to try new things. What a great group!

The ancient smell of the north woods, the somnolent sound of wind blowing through trees, the smooth taste of really good coffee, the silky feel of Luna’s sleek fur, the vibrant colors of the artwork in my office, the connected feeling of standing barefoot on the ground, the rejuvenating feeling of deep breaths.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 210

After finishing work yesterday, I felt like I didn’t have enough energy to go for a walk, but decided to go anyway… and was rewarded with a funny bunny encounter. 🙂

I am looking forward to my meeting with the beautiful and talented Lisa this afternoon!

I am also looking forward to teaching the drop-in class at HUGE today (Sense-ational improv: Incorporating all the senses into your scene). So fun that today’s class is a mash up of improv and songwriting techniques. I love when my little worlds collide like that!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 207

Feeling just well enough to do the stuff I really, really wanted to do this weekend, and then having enough down time to rest in between and afterward.

Watching awesome improv and then and having sososoooooo much fun performing with Sarah at the Pi Day Bonanza last night! Unbelievably fun.

The excitement of meeting new improvisers and hearing all their good ideas. I love surrounding myself with interesting, engaged, creative people. Musical improv is going to be super fun!

Warm socks, purring cats, tea, early bedtime.
