First EMDR session since the heart saga started up again. I am so glad I have a good therapist and can do EMDR with her to help me get past the PTSD!

A truly delicious lunch with Laura after she took me to my appointment. People’s Organic is awesome!

Appreciations 4.193 – Caucus day adventures

IMG_4045Wonderful morning with Debb! Time for coffee, a little work, and delicious breakfast at Original Pancake House. Yum! It’s been such a treat getting to see her more often!

We saw the most amazing vans outside the restaurant. Debb laughed and said she knew if I had a car like that, she’d find me outside with my markers, coloring it in. She’s right! Hahaha!

The super sweet clerk at Petco who came to the rescue when I got to the checkout and realized I didn’t have my bank card (and was feeling a bit anxious about where it might be!). He found a coupon and donated 70ยข of his own money to add to my cash so I could buy my cat food. Yes, I’ll be going up there today with a Caribou gift card to say thanks. ๐Ÿ˜€

The relief of finding my bank card in the pocket of my other coat (one I rarely wear, which is why I was so confused!). So happy I didn’t have to cancel the card and wait for a new one. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was pleased to see SO many people (line snaking around the block) out caucusing tonight. It made for a long evening, but I do love it when people feel engaged and interested…including me. Pretty happy I dragged my tired butt out after all. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Also, i just love Minnesota. ๐Ÿ’—

Oh, what gorgeous sunshine this morning. How wonderful to sit at my desk and look out at the pale blue skies and enjoy the kinda-looks-like-spring-kinda-feels-like-winter weather. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hyphens.

Tom’s helpful explanations about partitions and volumes on my external hard drive…which now once again has a fully bootable backup of my laptop. Yay!!

Appreciations 4.173 – snow fish!

Another wonderful vet visit at Uptown Vet. Poor Toby is such an anxious cat, but everyone there was very sweet and gentle with him! I even got some ideas on how to help him become a less anxious kitty. ๐Ÿ™‚

Appreciations 4.134 – Hello 2016!

hello-2016-v3.1YOU. Yes, you! If you are reading this, you are one of the people that make my life sparkle and shine. As I continue to adjust to changes and challenges presented in the past couple years, the one thing I am grateful for every day is the people in my life. You are one of those bright lights โ€” whether we interact in person or online, whether you’ve been a shoulder to cry on, a pal to goof around with, or someone who every once in awhile likes my posts on Facebook or follows my blog, you have made my days easier, brighter, and more fun. I am so grateful for the brilliance, humor, gentleness, love, and patience you have shown me. Thank you for being exactly who you are โ€” and for being part of my life. โ™ฅ

New Year Happy JarME. Past Diana, especially, for having the experiences and thoughts that have led me to where I am today. I also appreciate her for recording the wonderful things that happened in 2015 both in spreadsheets and on bright bits of paper as part of my New Year Happy Jar. So fun to go through the past year’s highlights as I begin 2016!

THEM. The folks in the world who I don’t know, but who make this world brighter, better, and more beautiful in their own ways. All those people who work on things I don’t want to – or don’t know how to – but without which life would be a little less easy, a little less fun. All those people painting the world in big, broad stokes of color and love and patience and gentleness. There are so many folks like that whose presence and whose work makes this world brighter. I appreciate them, too!

Enough snow to make it look like a real winter, but not so much it was a huge headache to traverse.

Working with a really excellent therapist. ๐Ÿ™‚ One of the things I really appreciate is being reminded of how far I’ve come in reaching some of my goals. It’s nice to take a minute to enjoy that sense of progress, even while looking ahead to new goals and new growth.

Coloring things and making pirate cards! (Tinkerbell gave us the card making kit…that Tinkerbell sure does know how to pick the perfect gifts for us!) ๐Ÿ˜€

Appreciations 4.129 – quiet days

After many days of bustling activity (all of which I thoroughly enjoyed!), it was nice to have a quiet, nearly solitary day of doing and not doing. I took a few “Oh, I guess I’ll take a nap” naps โ€” you know the kind you didn’t know you were about to take? ๐Ÿ˜›

I appreciated the great service I got when I called Mike from the Wildlife Removal Services in Bloomington… In a couple minutes on the phone, he helped me figure out it’s more likely that there are mice in the attic than squirrels (which makes me a little less anxious!) and gave me some tips on what to look for and listen for. He was super helpful and I will for sure hire him if I can’t figure it out or if it is squirrels.

Ibuprofen for reducing my muscle discomfort! I am still happy I was able to DO the shoveling yesterday, but today a couple of my muscles were like, “Dude. What did you do?? If you’re gonna use us, you gotta give us some kind of heads up or something…” ๐Ÿ˜‰

Appreciations 4.63

fall tree and sun 4Um, guys…have you seen this weather?! Love love love the colors, the warmth, the sunshine!

Amazing day for a walk up to the coffee shop with Alison. Thanks for the coffee and the super fun conversation, Alison. It was so great to reconnect! ๐Ÿ˜€

The wonderful people at the UMP Heart Clinic. Appointments are always so easy and fun. Amy always seems to remember my whole story (not just the medical stuff!) and is so supportive and accommodating, and does such a good job listening. I love having excellent care providers like her!

I appreciate the fact that I am running out of new adjectives to describe the beautiful parts of my life. How many times have I used these words this year: amazing, fun, beautiful, wonderful, delightful, fantastic, great, awesome, marvelous, magnificent, splendid, breathtaking, excellent, superb, stunning. It is a wonder to me how very bright and shiny my life is. โค

Appreciations 4.56

Ohhh – more number fun! 4.56! ๐Ÿ˜›

Another fabulous meeting with John. What a delightful start to my day! โค

Having so much fun with Pamela while she received her Elixir of Radiant Health at The Spa. Oh how we laughed and joked with the wonderful staff there. And we had such nice walkies – the three of us abreast – me, Pam, and Pam’s PatientPal (yes, that’s what the wheely-pole thingy that holds the bags of elixir is called!!) with Pam’s beautifully choreographed spins when we turned around at the end of the hall. What else? More enlightening, illuminating, inspiring conversation; watching the leaves dance upwards off the trees; and yes, of course, even singing. ๐Ÿ˜‰ It was fun to meet more members of the Pam Fan Club, like Amy and Nancy and all the other folks there who remembered Pam and were clearly so enchanted by my darling friend. We all love Pam’s energy, intentionality, charm, and wit. โค Oooooh, and the valet parking! That is pretty nifty, I tell ya. A girl could get used to that kind of thing! What a precious afternoon. ๐Ÿ™‚

parsley potatoesHaving just enough energy left over to cook when I got home – I made parsley potatoes with fresh parsley! For a gal who has barely cooked at all in the past 7 or 8 years, this is a big deal. Looks like this old dog CAN learn new tricks. ๐Ÿ˜€

Appreciations 4.48 – words, colors, warmth, helpful folks

More delightful words I encountered today: Sanguine. Propinquity.

trees on pleasant 10:7:15Colors. I realize I talk about/appreciate them every day, but wowsers. The view down this street is just going to get more and more amazing during the next week or so. So fun to watch the transition! Those flaming leaves against the azure sky are just knocking my socks off.

Socks off! Sandal weather on October 7th! True, I added long pants and a sweater, but still. Glorious weather for a midday walk!

The helpful people of Minneapolis. Clearly this planter was having some trouble seeing, so somebody found it a pair of glasses so it could see the fall leaves, too. ๐Ÿ˜› planter with glasses
