onions-reaching-for-sunMisty, rainy, cozy mornings.

The wisdom and wit of L M Montgomery’s Anne. Things like, “It’s delightful when your imaginations come true, isn’t it?” It surely is. 😀

My green onions seem to know there’s more daylight nowadays…. they’re sending up new shoots and are about 3 inches taller than they were just a few days ago! Holy growth spurt, Batman!

Appreciations 4.134 – Hello 2016!

hello-2016-v3.1YOU. Yes, you! If you are reading this, you are one of the people that make my life sparkle and shine. As I continue to adjust to changes and challenges presented in the past couple years, the one thing I am grateful for every day is the people in my life. You are one of those bright lights — whether we interact in person or online, whether you’ve been a shoulder to cry on, a pal to goof around with, or someone who every once in awhile likes my posts on Facebook or follows my blog, you have made my days easier, brighter, and more fun. I am so grateful for the brilliance, humor, gentleness, love, and patience you have shown me. Thank you for being exactly who you are — and for being part of my life. ♥

New Year Happy JarME. Past Diana, especially, for having the experiences and thoughts that have led me to where I am today. I also appreciate her for recording the wonderful things that happened in 2015 both in spreadsheets and on bright bits of paper as part of my New Year Happy Jar. So fun to go through the past year’s highlights as I begin 2016!

THEM. The folks in the world who I don’t know, but who make this world brighter, better, and more beautiful in their own ways. All those people who work on things I don’t want to – or don’t know how to – but without which life would be a little less easy, a little less fun. All those people painting the world in big, broad stokes of color and love and patience and gentleness. There are so many folks like that whose presence and whose work makes this world brighter. I appreciate them, too!

Another beautiful day for walks with Sammy. Today we hung out at his house instead of mine. He seemed much more content. I’m pretty sure my cats liked it better, too… 😉

All the sensations of being outside today: the sight of beautiful blue skies and skeleton trees, leaves twisting through the air; the smell of dry leaves and someone’s last barbeque of the year; the warmth of the sun in contrast with the brisk wind; the sounds of leaves rustling as we waded through them. Mmmmm.

Seeing the kitties both on my bed at the same time when I got home. This never happens! Maybe they are at long last reaching an understanding!

Learning to let go of things, despite my genetic predisposition to stubbornness. I love the idea of #100happydays and it was fun to add it in to my appreciation practice for awhile (well, 23 days), but since its goal is to help develop a gratitude practice (which I THINK I might just have down after 3+ years…) and since I often forget to take photos, I’m going to let it go. See all that growing and changing I’m doing?!? 😉

Appreciations Year Three: Day 281

Wonderful conversation with sweet Timmy. How I love having friends like Timmy who are on a sometimes parallel-ish journey and with whom it is so easy to reconnect no matter how many days-weeks-months it has been since our last conversation. ❤ ❤ ❤

Doing things that scare and excite me. What a cool adventure this whole life thing is.

My continually evolving relationship with acceptance, good-enough, should, imperfection, mistakes, shame, grace, joy. I love the little part of my brain that thinks at some point I will “get it right”! Oh, brain, you are so funny!

Things starting to bloom!! Plus, bonus Easter bunnies on Easter, bounding across the yard when we walked by on our way to get bonus Easter coffee. flowers april 5 2015

The fun of dying eggs with the kids.

Stars (real ones up in the sky and drawn ones, wherever they show up), the moon and the sun, little grassy grass and budsy buds starting to wake up and say hello, playing tag, slip-on shoes, remembering Gramma’s bubble bread (no, I have not tried to make a gluten-free version of it. Somethings you just don’t mess with!), green. Easter eggs 2015
