Appreciations Year Three: Day 267

Trying new things.

A wonderful, if brief, visit with the Duncan girls. Fills my little heart right up with love. ❤

Another fabulously fun JimmyD experience. Nothing like an evening of make-em-ups, adult beverages and comestibles, and comedy – because despite what JimmyD tells us, we are funny.

Lilacs, lip balm, linguistics, laughing, lurking, larks.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 265

The thoughtful, courageous, vulnerable, thought-provoking performances by Katie and her classmates at last night’s show.  Beautifully done!

All the major appliances in my house that DO work. 😛

Sunshine!  Especially after a run of cloudy, rainy days.

oleander-409330_1280Assonance, amethyst, badminton, caffeine, daffodils, elephants, fantasy, granite, holding hands, incandescence, jam, kangaroos, laughing, maps, naps, oleander, pandas, quacking ducklings, random lists of lovely things ( 😉 ), sandy beaches, tandem bicycles, unanimous votes, vampires, wagons, Xanadu, yams, Zambonis.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 264

Watching Pitch Perfect with Katie last night (yes, it was the first time I’d seen it. I know, I know!). Great ending for the day.

Nighttime rain and purring cats.

My white noise app that lets me blend different sounds. My current favorite combo is rain+whales+fan. Because that’s a combination of sounds you might hear… 😛

Magical thinking, starlight, flashlights, flashes of inspiration, laughter, applause, apple sauce, quilts.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 263

Lovely pre-Mother’s Day Saturday brunch with my family honoring my most wonderful mama. ❤

daisies from melanieThe way these beautiful flowers from Melanie look against the green outside my window. Thank you for this little bit of sunshine, Melanie!

Despite not feeling well, managing, with the kids’ help (well, they did most of the work…), to get the car washed, lawn mowed, and the front yard mostly weeded yesterday. And to, um, get all the burrs off my sweater and out of my hair.

  • Pro gardening tip #1: Don’t wear a fuzzy sweater to pull out dead stuff and weeds.
  • Pro gardening tip #2: Put long hair into ponytail before commencing with same.

Coffee with my kids today. What more could a mama want?

The vinegar and baking soda worked to clean out the horrible-smelling drain. Hooray! No plumbing projects for us today. 🙂

My kids’ wonderful ways of cheering their slightly overwhelmed mom… like sending me photos of our super cool cat, Toby, and making sparkly not-mother’s-day cards for me. IMG_4526

Appreciations Year Three: Day 261

Fairy notes:replies 5:5:15Fairy fun! Yes, we happened to have glow in the dark bracelets on hand to give to the girls. That’s how we roll. 😉

Pam’s fun alter-ego game. My secret name for today is Margaret (Maggie) Julianna Bossanova. She rocks taking care of paperwork and phone calls!

Looking forward to seeing Wits with Danny tonight! I’ve never been before!!

Friends, frisbees, fresia, french fries, Friday, canoes.

The beautiful gardens in my neighborhood.  What fun to walk by and see the changes each day!

Soft, warm weather that instantly improves my mood when I walk out into it.

Publicity work that does its job and results in a very nice article!

MarioProv with some of my favorite human beings.

Alison & Andy for creating the parking lot bit.

Andy for heightening and truly committing to the parking lot bit. OMG that was hilarious.  Genius!

Rain boots and puddles, rainbows and riddles, Grey Goose and fiddles, tea.

Fairy notes 1afairy notes 1fairy notes 2

This amazing bundle of notes from Leah’s Girl Scout Troop!  Oh what fun to be fairy to them all.  Sweet!

Last night’s terrific (nobody says terrific anymore.  Why is that?) first show for the Improv Happy Hour.  Well done, y’all.

Looking forward to another marvelous (people don’t really use marvelous much these days.  I wonder why.) JimmyD class tonight.

Parentheses, my parents, well-written theses, the heady smell of lilacs, last night’s oh-so-sensational petrichor (because it didn’t look at all strange for me to stand outside my house sniffing the air at 10 pm), chlorophyll, philodendrons, dromedaries, derring do, doo-wop ditties, kitties, tee shots that soar high into the sky and land on the fairway (I mean, in theory.  Not sure I’ve ever experienced something like that…).
