Appreciations 4.287 – magnificent human beings

Oh my wonderful, darling clients. I am continually amazed at my good fortune to get to work with such magnificent human beings. 😀

Debb's giftDennis’s sweet, funny card, and Debb’s sweet surprise gift that came in the mail today! Remember those magnificent human beings I told you about?! It’s not just my clients. ❤

Great gullywashing rain. What fun to sit on my couch and watch it come down!

Appreciations 4.43 – good sleep, new audio book, gift-giving fun

A really good night of sleep. Not sure what all the hubbub was earlier this week, but last night sure was a nice change of pace! 🙂

Finding the BBC radio dramatisation of Wodehouse’s Joy in the Morning – with Richard Briers (from Good Neighbors) playing Wooster. Oh what fun! Doesn’t matter that I just finished this book. Richard Brier’s Bertie is spectacular. Oh, fun fun fun.

The glee I feel when assembling and wrapping a gift that is both very silly and sure to please its recipient. I love when things line up perfectly like that. 😀

Appreciations Year Three: Day 149

Finally finishing a months-long project. Hooray!

Spinach salad from Luce. What deliciousness.

A most excellent and long-overdue visit with David. More deliciousness. 🙂

Pretending I’m young enough to stay up past 2 am. Ha!

Awesome presents from David. You know the way to a girl’s heart is jewelry… especially if it has bells or glows in the dark. 😉

Appreciations Year Three: Day 142 (more marker amusement)

Learning to be happy with little mini-projects instead of being frustrated that the big project is incomplete.

Knowing when it was time to take a break from work to tidy up the office and make it more inviting… for me AND the kitties!

The thrill of getting a surprise gift for no special reason, and then the fun of knowing that after work I’d get to play with my new toys. Thanks, DH. You made my day!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 140

Beautiful gifts from Singapore from my beautiful friend, Kat!

What a lovely surprise!

The absurdity of weather so cold it requires the wearing of two sweaters and a scarf…. indoors!

The supremely fun Improvised Jane Austen auditions tonight. What a wonderful group I got to play with and what fun we had playing pretend!

Year 1, Day 131: happy socks, happy shipping, happy smiles

I appreciate:

  1. How happy I feel every time I put on the Happy Socks Ruby picked for me! 🙂
  2. The convenience of overnight shipping – this way my sister-in-law will have her special Orange Bowl earrings in time for the game!
  3. The lovely smile on that woman as she walked into the store (and the fact that both Katie and I noticed it). She doesn’t even know how happy her expression made us!

Year 1, Day 128: people, presents, personalization

I appreciate:

  • The people in my life so much. I am surrounded by brilliant, kind, generous, surprising, funny characters at every turn.
  • Every day is an adventure! I’m still savoring the lively and ludicrous conversations from the past few days! 🙂
  • It was such treat to be able to see all my siblings, nieces and nephews and their partners for the holidays. What a joyful, charming bunch of people!
  • I also appreciate the joy of giving and receiving gifts. So much thoughtfulness and inventiveness this year!
  • I’m particularly thrilled to have received a personalized cookbook of my mom’s favorites – complete with the stories of how she found (or invented) the recipes. And I deeply touched and amazed by the gift of this beautiful quilt my sister-in-law made for me. ♥
