Lots of time and reasons for pondering lately. Yesterday, 2 dear and wonderful people I know died. It reminds me how fragile our lives are! And yet, how resilient we are, too. When we are faced with such tragedies, it gives us the opportunity to provide incredible love and support to the people who need it most. And so many of us do just that. I know I’ve been on the receiving end of that intense love and compassion a lot during the past few years, and am so grateful for it. And…I know that the love and care I can offer to my friends now has a powerful effect, too.
It’s amazing to me to experience, in the space of a few weeks, how much a kind word or message or, well, a ride somewhere 😉 can mean. Small gestures can have so much impact. And, having felt that, it reminds me that although I can’t fix anything or do lots of practical things for my friends right now, my small gestures can help, too. I like that.
What else do I appreciate? More little things like hot coffee, crazy blowing snow whizzing past budding trees and grass, blankets, goofy jokes, candles, raspberry jelly, stuffed animals, sidewalk chalk, and really sharp pencils with good erasers.
I also super appreciate looking forward to fun plans with Sarah, Terri, and Ellis this weekend, and weekly dinners with Katie and Cina. 🙂 Oh, and the fact that needing to ask for rides to everything means I get to see a lot more of the charming people in my life!
Soft snow turning to soft mist coming down on greening new buds.
Cina, who is not only super fun to hang out with, but will drive me to Target. On a very regular basis. 😉
Jerilyn, who supplied us with dinner and made the evening so easy. And yummy. 🙂
Sara, for taking on so many new Skynote tasks, making the past couple weeks SO much easier. And for setting up the Meal Train for us, making the past couple weeks SO much easier. And for being a lively, lovely friend who makes my life better. 😀
Time for a little visit with Debb before she had to go to work today. 🙂
Nice little visit with Jeff this afternoon. 🙂
Katie and Cina whose energy, humor, love, understanding, silliness, and helpfulness have made these past few weeks so much better than they might have been. ❤❤❤
My dad who drove me to my NRT appointment and the grocery store today. I am so lucky to have people willing to share so much time and energy to help me.
Dinner with Debb and Cara at Punch. Delicious food and wonderful company for my first “going out” event since all the excitement began.
My super comfy couch to come home to after my eventful day. 😉
Warm slippers.
The gluten-free marble cake Mckenzie and I made!
Delicious beef stew & baguettes delivered right to our door for dinner. Thank you, Karen!
All the sweet cards, messages, rides , meals, and offers to help with driving. I appreciate it so much! It is a strange, strange thing to suddenly not be able to drive myself places. I guess in some states you’re not allowed to drive for a year after an ICD discharge. At least it’s only 3 months here! Yikes.
Sunny sunshine. Still haven’t had the energy to get out for a walk, but it is wonderful to have it streaming into the house.
Pillows.
The delicious meal from Shish that Sara delivered! My progress is more up and down than I expected, making it a truly welcome gift last night!!
Lovely phone call with David. He always makes me laugh. 😀
Watching the rain pour down from partly cloudy skies. Fun to see the raindrops against a light sky in the background. 🙂
Comforting distractions for a day on the couch. I like having books to listen to, shows to watch, sweet sounds like the cats playing, birds, rain. I am also looking forward to the effects of this med dissipating so I can be up and at it again soon!
The stunning and funny cards and gifts that have been appearing in my mailbox. I feel so loved and supported. Thank you!
Yesterday’s team of chauffeurs, Cina and Laura, and today’s driver, Alison. I am so fortunate to have willing and able drivers who are terrific company to boot. 😀
The beautiful, tasty gluten- and dairy-free pot pie Sarah made for us. It had a heart in the middle!! ❤
What a wonderful morning yesterday! Super fun visit with Sarah & Ida, and Terri & Ruby. So much sweetness and laughter all at once. ❤

Easter egg coloring with the kids. Yay!
Heart-shaped trash. Hahaha!
