Appreciations Year Three: Day 350

Opportunities to learn new things…like how to unfreeze the rear wheels when the brake shoes have rusted to the drums. I didn’t actually do the whacking with a hammer, but I watched it happen right before my eyes. Again, thanks to Cina and her auto-smart family. ❀ I have learned a lot in the past couple days!

A nice little chat with Debb while I walked around the neighborhood. I have such wonderful people in my life.

flowers aug 5 2015Flowers. New ones popping up all summer long. I love that my neighbors are such good gardeners!

Sitting on the floor playing left-hand-only catch with Cina & Katie while Mckenzie was working on installing the curtain rod in the new room. Just one of those lovely moments that makes life feel rich and good.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 349

Opportunities to try new things… like taking the battery out of the car to take it up to the garage when the jump start attempt doesn’t work (okay, well, Cina took it out, but I put it back in – with Awesome Cina’s help and supervision).

happiness mintsPerfectly timed gifts from my sweet Katie, like this tin of Happiness Mints, which I really needed at the time!

Newly vacuumed floors + newly washed sheets + newly clean feetses at bedtime after a long day. ❀

Appreciations Year Three: Day 341

Improv Study Group with Amy & Alison. How wonderful to work in a beautiful, quiet space and have work time punctuated by hilarious bits. ❀

Room progress! Window framing installed, caulked, and primed, 2nd coat & touch-ups on everything that was dry enough. Getting closer!

Gross ceiling clean up 2 July 2015Gross ceiling clean up July 2015Learning that the ceiling tile support pieces that we thought we’d have to sand and paint were actually just covered with smoke residue from former tenants’ smoke. So kind of a Yay! and an Ewwwwwww! situation all at once. πŸ˜‰

All the help we’ve had with this room project. Thanks, Mom & Dad, Mckenzie, Katie, and Cina. In a few more days we’ll be ready to start the next one. πŸ˜€

Appreciations Year Three: Day 340

IMG_7331The amazing (if somewhat terrifying) Luna. Bwahahaha! Thanks for the photo, Cina!

More progress on the room – 2nd coat on walls and trim! I was gonna post pics, but guess what? It looks exactly the same as yesterday. Hahaha! πŸ˜‰

Painting with Mckenzie – we make a good team. Just when I’m getting sick of painting trim, he’s ready to stop rolling the walls, so we just switch jobs. Perfect!

Movie at the Riverview with Katie & Cina and the Delaneys. Spending time with these beautiful people fills my heart right up. ❀

The most awesome Lemonade and Rock stand we passed on the way home. We didn’t stop, but have it on good authority that the lemonade was refreshing and cool. πŸ˜€

Dinner with Laura and the Toms and Katie and Cina. I’m so excited that Jeff & Laura are moving back to MN. Fun!!

Miraculously fast errands after painting tonight… still got home before 11. All the green lights on Lyndale!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 335

Cindy’s hilarious cat postΒ https://youtu.be/C6-NdOPXYYQ and Debb’s idea for dentist waiting room conga lines, both of which had me giggling out loud during my wait at the dentist this morning. πŸ˜€

Project 7:21:15 1 Project 7:21:15 2

More expert advice and plus help on the room project from Mom, Dad, and Mckenzie. We are making good progress (though it looks much the same): seams and corners sanded and 2nd layer of mud applied, window framing project two well underway.

The huge pile of books Robby brought me the other day. Looks like I’m set for the next couple months. πŸ™‚

Gorgeous weather for an evening walk.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 334

Gorgeous weather! Sunny and not too hot. Perfect for a morning walk with Katie and Cina to the coffee shop. Plus, then there was coffee. πŸ˜‰

Project 7:20:15 1 Project 7:20:15 2 Project 7:20:15 3 Project 7:20:15 4

Progress on room project: All wall seams mudded, all corners taped, new window framing installed and primed…plus bonus fixing of wonky knob on kitchen drawer. Yipee!

Going to see Dynamic Duos with Alison tonight. What a good day!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 323

Magical restoration of internet connection just long enough to get done what needed to get done. Thanks for the magical boost, Alison. πŸ™‚

Annual trip into Sammy’s with the gang. So good!

A little bocce ball and slapdash in the afternoon, always fun.

Gorgeous evening canoe ride with Alison and Katie and our little communion with the mama and papa loons. What a beautiful evening!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 322

I realize I’ve already appreciated this, but I really appreciate again how amazing it smells up here. The air and trees and plants all mix and mingle and create the single best smell there is. ❀

Another lovely walk with my dad. πŸ™‚

Daytime puzzling with Heidi, Debb, and my mom Β (with musical help from Ivan) – no flashlights needed!

The arrival of Alison and Katie. Yay! It is so much fun to have them up here. Alison thinks the cabins are “cute” β€” which I think is cute. πŸ˜€

What? Another beautiful day with sunny skies and perfect temperatures? Mmhmm. Yes. Just the thing for a nice walk to the coffee shop with Katie! Oh, and pretty flowers along the way, that’s a bonus. πŸ™‚

Weirdo Toby, putting himself in some kind of kitty time out between the shower curtains. Hahahaha!

A day with so many hours there was plenty of time for everything: work, socializing, household tasks (and miraculously smooth and fast errands – three stops and back home in under and hour!!) Awesome!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 312

Nice chat with my brother Jeff this morning, catching up on the family and the house sale. I’m so excited for them to move back to Minnesota!!

More gorgeous weather. Beautiful day for Pride! Katie's-Rainbow-Heart

Mckenzie’s and my funny “hey it’s about to rain, let’s get a bunch of weeds pulled and the lawn mowed really quick before the storm” adventure (which resulted in both of us becoming rain soaked, but also resulted in a MUCH nicer looking yard!)

Hilarious and enlightening chat with David in the afternoon.

Another great push on our house de-cluttering project, with 4 bags of stuff going to various family members and 4 bags of stuff going to Value Village. Progress!

Hanging out with the kids and being silly after our productive day. What a great end to the weekend!
