Watching this morning’s fine powdered sugar snow morph into puffy cotton fluff snow.

Looking forward to a day of working and napping. I am so glad I can work in my pjs and take breaks of whatever length whenever I need to. 🙂

Coffee.

Appreciations 4.125 – Birthday!

holiday cardsWhat a wonderful birthday! I enjoyed a quiet morning working on holiday cards and then had an excellent brunch with Katie and Mckenzie. The food (gluten-free pancakes with pecans!) and coffee were delicious and the rain turned to snow while we enjoyed our meal. Magical. 🙂

Then I got to spend the rest of the day with the kids, running errands and finishing up projects. What a treat!

I’m happy to have added to my art print collection – a new O’Keeffe for my Georgia wall and a new Van Gogh for the kitchen. I can’t even explain how happy these prints make me feel!

Nice clear, dry roads for traveling tonight. Made our late-night trips in record time!

Coffee date with Katie and Cina! The coffee gave me just enough energy to withstand Katie’s bout of pun-itis. It was a shockingly persistent case. 😛

Getting some of our holiday decorating done… it is always best to start with an adorable little tree. 🙂 Though I will say it was strange to go to the tree place when it wasn’t freezing cold, 15 minutes before they close for the night, and a only few days before Christmas. 😉 #breakingtraditions

All the dishes done and kitchen cleaned up in time for me to crash before 9 pm. Busy weekend=tired mama!

Super fun coffee date with Laura yesterday! It’s so great to have her living in the same town! 🙂

Really busy work week. Busy doing work I love for clients I love who are each doing something I really believe in. Pretty awesome! 💗

IMG_3683Driving home around the lakes. I was feeling pretty beat from a long day, but then looked across Lake Calhoun and saw my beloved city. It took my breath away.  My phone camera doesn’t do it justice, but you get the idea. 😉

Looking forward to singing with the Earthtones at ASI tomorrow! Come see us! 😀

Coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee. Some days I appreciate it more than others. 😉

Somehow getting through 7 errands after work – that’s a LOT of stuff to cross off my to-do list. Yay!

The fun of making every errand fun. It’s amazing how just being curious about how a cashier’s day is going can spark a nifty little grin- or giggle- inspiring conversation. Random smiles at fellow shoppers and standers-in-line work pretty well, too. Sure makes doing errands more fun!

fall tree and sun 4Um, guys…have you seen this weather?! Love love love the colors, the warmth, the sunshine!

Amazing day for a walk up to the coffee shop with Alison. Thanks for the coffee and the super fun conversation, Alison. It was so great to reconnect! 😀

The wonderful people at the UMP Heart Clinic. Appointments are always so easy and fun. Amy always seems to remember my whole story (not just the medical stuff!) and is so supportive and accommodating, and does such a good job listening. I love having excellent care providers like her!

I appreciate the fact that I am running out of new adjectives to describe the beautiful parts of my life. How many times have I used these words this year: amazing, fun, beautiful, wonderful, delightful, fantastic, great, awesome, marvelous, magnificent, splendid, breathtaking, excellent, superb, stunning. It is a wonder to me how very bright and shiny my life is. ❤

Appreciations 4.30 – Infographic

Appreciation InfographicBeautiful day for a walk up to the coffee shop with Katie and Cina! What a fabulous way to start the weekend! ❤

Coffee.Coffee.Coffee!

The way my brain works — or doesn’t — when I sleep fewer than 6 hours. The whole day is an interesting, hazy cloud of half-thoughts, starts and stops, and lots of wondering: “I wonder what I was starting to say/think/do?” 😀 What an interesting state of being!

Canva. I can see that I’m going to be playing with this for lots and lots of hours as I start making my own infographics. Fun!

The sound of the rain on the roof. Makes everything feel so cozy inside, just right for drinking a nice cup of coffee and working, and later, a drinking a nice cup of tea and working, and even later, drinking another cup of tea and snuggling up with a purring feline. 😉

Appreciations Year Three: DAY 365!

Three years of writing daily appreciations. Wow! How lucky I am to have stumbled upon this practice. How grateful I am for the ways it has rewired my brain so it is now always on the lookout for what is good and lovely in the world. How thrilled I am to have found kindred spirits whose desire to look for the best, reframe things in the most positive light, and search out nuggets of joy, have helped me on my own path.

The past three years have been filled with incredible changes (and yes, challenges) some of which would have seemed insurmountable, unbearable if it weren’t for the constant stream of noticing what is beautiful. This practice has made is so much easier to see, even on darker days, how incredibly lucky I am to know the people I know. Wonderful, bright, funny, deeply loving and supportive, generous and kind people everywhere I turn. It has helped me notice how beautiful the wind sounds as it blows through leaves on trees, how intensely blue the sky can be, how powerful the sound of laughter is. Today, especially, I am grateful for gratitude. ❤

Also, coffee.

And new beginnings.

Delicious hamburgersAnd hamburgers that are “delicious” — and a daughter who understands my appreciation of well-placed “quotation marks” and will take photos of the best examples to send to me. 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 364

Scrolling through posts on FB and thinking how much I really, really like my smart, sassy, funny, honest, vulnerable, brave, delightful friends.

Fun first meetings. New people are interesting! 🙂

Delicious coffee at Royal Grounds.

More working and listening to the rain. I love that this weather still feels like a treat — and that it will make the sunshine and heat feel like a treat when they return.
