Watching the world on a blustery day.

Enough energy to start my tax prep.

The reliable and friendly mechanic I’ve worked with for decades.

Soft PJs.

Friday night race group. So good to have a place to learn and stretch and grow.

Seeing I Am Not Your Negro with a few people from the group. What a thought-provoking and powerful film. I also super appreciated the chance to talk about it with Ellis after the movie.

Watching Ida dance. So much joy in such a tiny person! 😀

Pretty snow to make the cold temps a little easier to tolerate.

Rose july 2016Delicious, revivifying coffee! 😉

Another wonderfully productive work session with Ellis. I am so grateful for her company! It really helps me do things I’m not able to do when I’m alone — and even inspired more productivity this afternoon after our time was done. Thank you, sweet friend, for your wonderful energy!!

Roses in the rain..gorgeous glowing growth against gray skies. 😀

Dinner july 2016Fabulous dinner prepared by and eaten with Katie and Cina. So yummy. And so much fun to have dinner with them!! ❤

Appreciations 4.314 – 4.319

Enough energy to get my appreciations posted. Hooray! Still taking things one day at a time, but definitely improved from a few weeks ago. The act of jotting down my appreciations (even if I don’t post them) and getting in 10,000 steps each day has helped me feel at least a little stable during this strange time. I appreciate the geek in me who likes to measure and record things. 😀

Here are my appreciations for the past week or so.

4.314
Good Earth tea. Getting my June newsletter done while it’s still technically June. 😉 A nice walk in the neighborhood with Katie.

4.315
Audio books narrated by Jonathan Cecil. His character voices are so effective, I often forget I’m listening to just one reader! Neighborhood walk with Cina. Wonderful visit with Terri.

4.316
A good night’s sleep. Coffee. Tackle hugs and playing with Ruby.

4.317
Star Trek. Comfy pillows. Sunshine.

4.318
The absurdity of cleaning out a closet at 4 am. So strange to still be wide awake at that time…but very satisfying to wake up after a few hours of sleep and look at my newly organized closet — and see that I’d already logged over 2,000 steps for the day. Hahaha!

Delicious dinner with the Delaneys.

Sidewalk chalk.

4.319
Waking up at 6 am (when the power went out) instead of going to sleep at 6 am! 😉

I finally decided to get out of bed to report the outage just before 7… and about 10 seconds after I reported it, the power came back on. Magic!

Electricity. Oh, yes. I appreciate power for my computer and phone, stove and refrigerator, lights, fans, washing machine… so many things that make life so much easier and more comfortable!

Appreciations 4.292

Gorgeous weather.

Walk to Royal Grounds and coffee with Katie.

Delicious dinner with Debb & Katie.

IMG_4431Sweet after-dinner walk with Katie — and the friendliest cat in the neighborhood! This little kitty has come with us on several walks and purrs and purrs and purrs…and comes really close to me every time I try to take a photo.

Appreciations 4.286 – dinosaurs!

Coffee and cats in the morning. ❤

TinosaurAll the sense-treats from a walk through my neighborhood. So many delicious smells and sounds and sights. In one little walk this evening I passed a butterfly habitat in progress, people riding a tandem bike, kids playing catch, someone practicing saxophone, about a dozen little free libraries, and, of course, a tiny dinosaur (the dreaded tinosaur). 😀 I also love the fun mix of single-family homes, apartments, and cool independent shops. I love my neighborhood!

Tea and tabbies at bedtime. ❤

Appreciations 4.269 – Diana and the wonderful, excellent, all good, very fine day

😀 So many sweet moments today. I like the feeling that I am learning to hold the truth of the challenges in my life right alongside the truth of the beauty in my life.

Today I got to spend time with Katie, including a walk up to the coffee shop where the barista pulled out my favorite pastry as I walked up to the counter and then asked if I wanted an Americano. (I did!) I love the familiar friendly faces of the folks at Royal Grounds!

This excellent day also included getting more work done than I have most days lately. That felt great.

What else? Oh, right, the magnificent weather. Gorgeous.

Also, goslings! So adorable!IMG_9783

Another spectacular part of the day included walking around Linden Hills with the kids when we went to pick up Cina’s birthday cake at Sebastian Joe’s. On our way back to the car (which we’d parked at Lake Harriet), we met a family out for a walk who asked us to take their picture…because they were out on their baby’s first walk!! Took some photos and chatted with the beaming mom and dad and grandparents, who introduced us to 1-week old Lincoln. And that tiny, gorgeous little creature took my finger and held on tight. What a magical moment we got to be part of.

My sweet day concluded with a lovely conversation reconnecting with my dear friend Terri. I am incredibly thankful for her, and for the other fascinating, thoughtful, open-hearted people in my life.

And I love that I’m recording this so I can re-experience this deep sense of well-being another day when I might need it. 🙂

Appreciations 4.257 – May the fourth be with you…

Being able to fall asleep the past two nights without Benadryl — and having no nightmares! Yay! I feel like some of the PTSD stuff is really starting to shift now. What a wonderful relief. 🙂

Super successful and fun errands outing with Cina! We both had COFFEE first! Then we did 7 stops in just over 3 hours – including finally dropping off my CF bulbs and batteries at the recycling center (which I’ve been “meaning to do” for 3 years) AND having time for lunch. The lessening of the anxiety is allowing me SO much more energy. Plus, Cina is just awesome. ❤ ❤ ❤

May the 4th toyMy very important $1 Star Wars Day impulse buy. May the fourth be with you… 😀
