Appreciations Year Three: Day 346

Comma butterfly aug 1 2015All the butterflies who’ve been visiting me lately. This pretty little comma butterfly stayed perfectly still, though the branch was waving wildly in the wind, long enough for me to get a non-blurry photo. Thanks, little friend.

Finishing the room! Almost every aspect of this project took more time and ingenuity than one might guess. But don’t we feel satisfied now?! 😉 One down, four to go.

Mckenzie for washing the car while I packed this morning. What a treat!

When things that might have been a catastrophe turn out not to be. Though I am very, very sad to miss spending time with Sarah and Ida and their family at their cabin, I am also incredibly grateful that I – and the other woman who ran over the same big, sharp, unavoidable whatever-it-was on the freeway – only got flat tires (well, tire AND busted wheel in my case) and that we made it to the side of the road safely.

I am also grateful that it happened close enough to the cities to be within my AAA radius instead of out in the middle of nowhere, and that the AAA guy was really nice – even changed the tire for the other woman, too, though she’s not a member. It was comforting to have another person there to chat with about the incident while we waited for help. I also appreciate all the little back roads I found to get me back home without having to stress my little compact spare tire at high speeds. And boy-oh-boy did I appreciate getting back home and being done with driving for today!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 333

Day 333 of my 3rd year of appreciations, obviously. So many threes! 😉

A productive morning getting more work done on the first room. Guess who knows how to tape a corner bead now? Yup, it’s me. Well, so does Mckenzie. 🙂

We also learned that I already have (and was able to locate!) all the tools we’ll need for the various parts of this project – hack saw, miter box, jigsaw, putty knives, caulk gun, tin snips. Each time we found one of the necessary tools, it was like finding a little treasure!

My Dad’s enthusiasm for helping and showing me how to fix up the room – I’ve never built a custom frame for a window before. Fun!

Wonderful visit with some of the cheezy folks today. It is so great to get a chance to reconnect like this!

Lovely walk with Suz, complete with awesome butterfly dance sighting. At first our little friend was camera shy and wouldn’t sit still, but then we got lucky.

Feeling lighter, happier, and more hopeful than I’ve felt in awhile. Mmmmmm. Nice.

Truly wonderful improv with the Haha Ladies. Brilliant stuff!<3

Seeing two little girls walking down the street wearing fairy clothes. Sweet!

Rain, just in time to sing me to sleep. 🙂

Year 1, Day 10: my mug, couch, butterflies

I appreciate:

1. My Rocky Mountain National Park mug which not only holds my most favorite breakfast beverage, but also reminds me of our wonderful family trip last summer.
2. My purple couch which is not only comfy, but is purple. Purple!
3. Butterflies. They are just fun to watch. I like ’em. 🙂
