Oh, how I love Duncan Sundays! Gorgeous weather for a walk up to the farmer’s market and then down to the lake. Plus play time with rocks, kitty, and books. 😉 What a perfect way to spend the morning. ❤ ❤ ❤

Appreciations 4.51

The brilliant vine growing all along the back fence. So pretty to look out and see those vibrant colors! Getting some serious pruning and weeding done in the backyard. Still a long ways to go, but we made a good start! And we had perfect weather for some yard work. Thanks, Mckenzie!

Fun lunch with my sibs! 😀 I am still trying to understand how I am able to drive 15 minutes and see Jeff & Laura. What?!? 😛 Thanks for the fun afternoon, Laura!

Evening of couch time to rest up from my day of activity. 😉

Appreciations 4.50

The first sip of coffee in the morning. It is always a welcome thing, but some mornings it is simply exquisite. Today was one such day. 🙂

The quality of light at this time of year. Driving around the lakes the sky went from dull gray to vivid blue with golden streaks of sunshine lighting up the trees. During the hour or so I was out doing errands, it shifted back and forth several times. What fun to watch the light alter the landscape like that!

Super fun evening catching up with David and watching Spy. I love watching Melissa McCarthy do her thing!

Year 1, Day 58: my mom, gorgeous leaves, talented friends

I appreciate:

Getting to spend time with my most awesome mom, Carol, this morning!
The gorgeous leaves that threw themselves in my path, brightening my walk today.
Knowing so many delightful and talented people — and the myriad opportunities to see them shine! (M4W Improv, PAM, Twin Cities Horror Festival to name just a few!)

Year 1, Day 39: fall skies, smells, leaves, colors

Today I appreciate fall. Wanna know why?

Warm, clear, blue-sky days that turn into cool , snuggle-under-the-covers nights.
The smell smoke from people’s backyard fires.
The crisp-crunchiness of fallen leaves when I walk on them. Reminds me of the huge piles of leaves we jumped in as kids.
The amazing array of colors…mums and asters blooming bright against the yellow/brown stalks of dying summer plants, leaves ranging from still green to yellow-orange-red to brown. What a brilliant sight. 🙂

Year 1, Day 17: catching up with friends, gratitude’s effect, autumn leaves

I appreciate:

Getting to catch up with Sharon Parker and Lini Wilkins last night. What lovely women!
The incredible effect that doing this “better brain challenge” is having on my life. Surprisingly easy to do – and with such profound results. Wow.
Seeing the leaves starting to turn and feeling the crispness of autumn in the air! 🙂

Year 1, Day 15: Luna Kitty, Avalon School, first day of school

I appreciate:

Silly Luna Kitty! Turns her nose up at the turkey I had for lunch yesterday, but persistently asks for a piece of my gluten-free muffin. Oh – but loves to catch and eat flies. LOL.
Avalon School – seeing my kid excited for the first day of school is just so cool!
The first day of school – which, in my mind, marks the beginning of autumn, one of my favorite seasons!
