Year 1, Day 128: people, presents, personalization

I appreciate:

  • The people in my life so much. I am surrounded by brilliant, kind, generous, surprising, funny characters at every turn.
  • Every day is an adventure! I’m still savoring the lively and ludicrous conversations from the past few days! 🙂
  • It was such treat to be able to see all my siblings, nieces and nephews and their partners for the holidays. What a joyful, charming bunch of people!
  • I also appreciate the joy of giving and receiving gifts. So much thoughtfulness and inventiveness this year!
  • I’m particularly thrilled to have received a personalized cookbook of my mom’s favorites – complete with the stories of how she found (or invented) the recipes. And I deeply touched and amazed by the gift of this beautiful quilt my sister-in-law made for me. ♥

Year 1, Day 127: celebrations, traditions, family, donations

I appreciate:

  • Our quiet morning at home before traveling for Christmas celebrations.
  • Our silly traditions – even if we can’t quite remember why they got started!
  • The joy – and hilarity – of spending the day with my entire family. What a funny, joyful time!
  • Our tradition of making a donation to the childrens’ home and to the nursing home residents and staff. We are so fortunate to be in a position to do little things like that.
  • Ending the day with more quiet family time. Perfect.

Year 1, Day 126: experiences, looking forward, family nearby Dec 24, 2012

I appreciate the amazing experiences I’m fortunate to have and the excitement of looking forward to them. Today, I got my tickets for the Tiny Funny Women Fest, Ellis performing on Prairie Home Companion, and Song School.  So excited for all these events.  I also appreciate the sweetness of wrapping gifts and baking with the whole family, and the fact that we have our family nearby and can see Pat’s family on the 24th and my family on the 25th. 🙂

Year 1, Day 125: b-day wishes, Zumbro, tradition, nap, wrap, and family

I appreciate:

  1. All you lovely, wonderful people sending me birthday wishes. ♥ Thank you so much!
  2. My amazing morning at Zumbro, first with the beautiful and funny Burcin, then with the beautiful and funny family. What a brilliant start to the day. 🙂
  3. Picking out flowers & treats to bring to the nursing home for staff & residents. I love this new tradition!
  4. A nap on the couch with the family all around doing their thing.
  5. Charlie Brown Christmas music playing while we work away here at wrapping central.
  6. My family, all of whom I love so much. Lucky, lucky, lucky. ♥

Year 1, Day 124: latte and conversation, time with brothers, time with daughter

I appreciate:

  1. Spending this morning Pat and his sister Kate at Cafe Latte. Yummy rice milk latte and great conversation.
  2. Spending the afternoon with my brothers. What funny, interesting people! We always have such interesting conversations.
  3. Spending the evening shopping and doing errands with my lovely Katie. I never really care what we’re doing when we’re together. I enjoy her company so much!

Year 1, Day 123: audience, fellow improvisers, the Delaneys, family visits

Oh, today is so easy. I appreciate:

  • Everyone who came to the show at HUGE Theater last night. You were an awesome audience!
  • Jen, Kristen, Liv Augusta Anderson, Carolyn Blomberg & Dan Linden, for making the whole solo show such a wonderful experience. 🙂
  • This morning’s solstice/birthday/christmas gathering with T, E & R. Perfect in every way!
  • The anticipation of seeing my siblings and all my nieces and nephews (who are coming to town this weekend!) It will be so much fun to see everyone again!

Year 1, Day 121: wackiness, feedback, open venue

I appreciate the continued wackiness of meeting people out of context! Today’s version:

  • Meeting Mary, my fellow laughter yoga leader, at the bead store (unscheduled stop during errands today).
  • Seeing Elyssa (from my CSz class) at Huge (I was on my way out after rehearsal, she was heading in for class).
  • Ending up in line behind Katie C (whom I haven’t seen in several years and doesn’t live in my neighborhood) at my post office.

So. Much. Fun!

I also appreciate Katie, Ryan, and Pat, for patiently watching and then providing good feedback on the solo improv show I’m working on. 😉

And I appreciate the fact that HUGE Theater is letting me try this out tomorrow night! In front of real live people! (Okay, well I both appreciate and am terrified by it….) 😛
