Appreciations Year Three: Day 233

lilac budsLast night’s beautiful sunset. So many pinks and purples and blues all at once.

Lilac buds that remind me that even though it is SNOWING, it’s not gonna last. 🙂

My sense of triumph for completing my first comp in PSE – oh the things I learned how to do in making that thing. How exciting when I figured out how to get it to display info in pixels instead of inches. Yep. That’s the kind of thing that makes my day. 😛

My sweet little MacBook. I spend so much time with it. What a pal. ❤

Sitting on the north shore with eyes closed, listening to the birds and the waves, smelling the rich north woods air, feeling the sun and the breeze and the occasional icy splash. What a great thing to imagine on a cold, gray morning.

Imagining things!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 232

800px-Raindrops_on_waterWaking up to the sound of rain on the roof. What a cozy sound.

So much fun playing and talking with my improv buddies – and making new improv buddies! That was super fun, Katie!

The hilarity of watching my brain try to work on too little sleep. Nice try, brain. You just hang in there and see what you can do. 😉

Hearing from someone weeks after a class I taught that they really loved it and are having fun using the new tools we used that day in their improv. What a great feeling!

Trying new things, the comfort of rituals and patterns, smartass friends who make me giggle, rhyming silliness (you could have cous cous with goose, or try wild rice with mice), lakes, rivers, ponds, streams, chickens, ducks, and rainbows.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 231

The incredible people in my life.  I am continually grateful for the amazingly sweet, funny, supportive, brilliant, creative, wonderful people I encounter every day. ❤

Sun trying to peek out from behind the pearly gray skies.

Pam, for her use of the phrase “living in the pearl” to describe our gray weather.  So much more depth and beauty if you think of it that way. 🙂

Outtakes.  Srsly.  It cracks me up to watch people cracking up.

Laughs, giggles, guffaws, chortles, hoots, howls, chuckles.  All those things.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 230

thank-you-bottom-of-my-heartMy super awesome cheering section of friends and family. What a wonderful deluge of funny and happify-ing things today! I am so lucky to have comfort and care all around me when I need it. ❤

Numbers and license plates getting together to try to cheer me up with numeric fun. Within the space of 5 minutes I saw plates that started with 888, 666, and 333. I do love patterns.

Patterns!

Things getting better. If you wait long enough, they always do. 😉

Knowing how to type. So handy and fun. What? It IS fun! Yes it is.

Lightbulbs, Arnie Palmers, fabric stores, rocks, cool looking hats, made up songs.

Things starting to bloom!! Plus, bonus Easter bunnies on Easter, bounding across the yard when we walked by on our way to get bonus Easter coffee. flowers april 5 2015

The fun of dying eggs with the kids.

Stars (real ones up in the sky and drawn ones, wherever they show up), the moon and the sun, little grassy grass and budsy buds starting to wake up and say hello, playing tag, slip-on shoes, remembering Gramma’s bubble bread (no, I have not tried to make a gluten-free version of it. Somethings you just don’t mess with!), green. Easter eggs 2015

Appreciations Year Three: Day 228

Beautiful bright sunshiny mornings. daisy smile

Quiet morning to balance things out after yesterday’s crazy busy go-from-one-thing-to-another-to-another kind of day. 🙂

Luna getting silly in her old age. Yesterday she was crouched down, half-turned and glaring wildly at her own tail. Which she then proceeded to chase in a circle. Silly girl. 😉

Coffee!

Freckles, Garfunkel and Oates, Ingrid Michaelson songs. ukes, paper cutters, markers, daisies.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 227

grateful-heart-&-smileyReading through last year’s appreciations in my spreadsheet. Remember that time I went to NOLA with Debb & Libby and had a completely awesome time?! 🙂

Super fun lunch with Danny yesterday. Haiku’s clear broth is inexplicably delicious and our conversation was, as always, lively and fun. AND we learned the super important lesson (based on our scientific experiment) that we can make eye contact for a really really long time and it doesn’t get weird. Which is weird, right?! 😛

Pam for about a billion reasons, but today for having introduced me to Haiku in the first place.

Aha – finally remembered to look up the ice cube oddities I keep finding and now I know. (And now you can know, too: https://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/icespikes/icespikes.htm )

Terri, also for about a billion reasons not the least of which is being born. (Happy birthday, friend!)

So much fun seeing people from all different parts of my life in one place today!

Super amazingly fun workshop of Bryce’s new narrative idea. I can’t even believe how much fun that is.

Having a life so full up with people I adore. Seriously so grateful for all the twists and turns of my life that led me to each and every one of ’em.

PS – that includes YOU! ❤

Appreciations Year Three: Day 226

Shannon and the other wonderful staff at UMP Heart. I love working with personable, funny people who care about my comfort during procedures and make them feel so easy!

Perfect cup of coffee with coconut creamer. Sweet, but not too sweet. The perfect temperature.

Cozy! Working from home in pjs and slippers on a cool, gray morning.

Looking forward to lunch with Danny!

Weekends, musicals, stamps, honey bees (and honey!), beeswax candles, rose quartz, magic.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 225

Spring weather. I love the ups and downs, the thunderstorms and the sunny days. I love going for walks outside again!

The interesting perspective on things provided by a rare night of insomnia. Time has such a funny quality today.

Striped socks. Counting things, random songs that pop into my head, petrichor petrichor petrichor, jewelry, my laptop, neighborhood animal sightings >> red winged black birds, cardinals, rabbits, friendly cats, some kind of hawk or falcon, bats.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 224

rainbow sink March 2015Yesterday’s mid-morning sink rainbow. ‘Cuz that’s a thing. 😉

Wonderfully warm and wildly windy weather. Wow!

Walking in said weather with my hair down and being practically blinded by it when the wind was coming from behind me, then feeling like some mythical creature with my hair streaming out behind me when I was walking against the wind. Exciting!

Another fun meeting with Andy…fun to work on work, and then, you know, hang out and not work on work. 🙂

Super funny tiny little big world with criss-crossy connections of all kinds. How fun that Andy designed the site for someone I met 10 years ago on the art fair circuit — and whom I met again doing Tai Chi with Sarah. I love that.

smiley hydrant March 2015Smiley face fire hydrant. I love those days when the whole world seems to be smiling.

Sandal weather!!! Yes, I wore sandals today. Thrilling.

Bikes with baskets and bells, Lake Harriet, A Wrinkle in Time, getting to know new and interesting people, fellow geeks – whether improv-geeks or wordy-geeks or tech-y geeks – I like us all. ❤
