Opportunities to NOT learn new things some days. 😉
Drizzly, rainy weather. Perfect for an early jammies, early bedtime night!
Love and kindness all around me. ❤
Opportunities to learn new things…like how to unfreeze the rear wheels when the brake shoes have rusted to the drums. I didn’t actually do the whacking with a hammer, but I watched it happen right before my eyes. Again, thanks to Cina and her auto-smart family. ❤ I have learned a lot in the past couple days!
A nice little chat with Debb while I walked around the neighborhood. I have such wonderful people in my life.
Flowers. New ones popping up all summer long. I love that my neighbors are such good gardeners!
Sitting on the floor playing left-hand-only catch with Cina & Katie while Mckenzie was working on installing the curtain rod in the new room. Just one of those lovely moments that makes life feel rich and good.
Opportunities to try new things… like taking the battery out of the car to take it up to the garage when the jump start attempt doesn’t work (okay, well, Cina took it out, but I put it back in – with Awesome Cina’s help and supervision).
Perfectly timed gifts from my sweet Katie, like this tin of Happiness Mints, which I really needed at the time!
Newly vacuumed floors + newly washed sheets + newly clean feetses at bedtime after a long day. ❤
Opportunities to try new things… like jump starting a car (yes, it is true that I’d never done it myself before).
So much fun having dinner with and playing silly games with Ruby!
Bonus fun getting to catch up and reconnect with Terri when she got home. I love my Delaney days! ❤
Toby, making the most of my recently unpacked bag. At least someone is getting some use out of it this weekend! 😛
Quick little side-job today: painting the baseboard trim in the upstairs bathroom… it’s only been waiting for paint for two years…
Little projects that are satisfying and distracting.
Listening to Cina & Katie reading Nimona out loud. So much cuteness!
All the butterflies who’ve been visiting me lately. This pretty little comma butterfly stayed perfectly still, though the branch was waving wildly in the wind, long enough for me to get a non-blurry photo. Thanks, little friend.
Finishing the room! Almost every aspect of this project took more time and ingenuity than one might guess. But don’t we feel satisfied now?! 😉 One down, four to go.
Mckenzie for washing the car while I packed this morning. What a treat!
When things that might have been a catastrophe turn out not to be. Though I am very, very sad to miss spending time with Sarah and Ida and their family at their cabin, I am also incredibly grateful that I – and the other woman who ran over the same big, sharp, unavoidable whatever-it-was on the freeway – only got flat tires (well, tire AND busted wheel in my case) and that we made it to the side of the road safely.
I am also grateful that it happened close enough to the cities to be within my AAA radius instead of out in the middle of nowhere, and that the AAA guy was really nice – even changed the tire for the other woman, too, though she’s not a member. It was comforting to have another person there to chat with about the incident while we waited for help. I also appreciate all the little back roads I found to get me back home without having to stress my little compact spare tire at high speeds. And boy-oh-boy did I appreciate getting back home and being done with driving for today!
Oh! Day 345. That is fun to type!
The most amazing book Ruby made for us! (This is just a sample.)
Being around kid energy…. so many giggles over a dropped noodle. From that perspective, everything is fun!
The way things work out just right… Like not being able to get on the internet to work after Ruby went to sleep….which led to me looking through T & E’s books for something to read – and finding The Tao of Pooh which I’ve owned and started, but never read all the way through. Turns out it is exactly what I need to read right now! ❤
Looking forward to a productive morning of work, getting more ceiling tiles installed this afternoon, and then a fun rehearsal with Alison.
Little chinks of light breaking through the darkness.
My well-trained grateful brain for keeping me afloat at times of high stress.
Looking forward to Ruby time tonight.
Sunshine and blue skies, clean hair, water, ZyrtecD (only the target brand so it’s cheaper), memories of the ease and comfort of getting into the canoe and getting out on the lake, coffee, purring cats, sharpies.
Last touches on painting, now starting the ceiling project. First new tile installed!
A good therapist who’s known me and my whole family for years. So great to check in when the depressive symptoms start taking hold! Of course, now I have homework…. 😛
#SayDay posts. How lovely to write and read the good things we all think about each other. ❤
Waking up to thunder and rain. What good sounds.
Somehow getting through the day and getting things done, despite a brain that really wanted to sit in negative thoughts, self-doubt, and fear. Silly ol’ brain. 😉
Patient and loving people who tolerate me on my moody days and love me despite my crankiness. ❤
