Appreciations Year Three: Day 179

Staying up too late (shocking, right?!) working on a story generating site with Dave. We just started, but it encompasses all the nerdy stuff. So far, my favorite one is, “The story is about a reclusive but clever tuna thief who must enchant a terrible ogre to open the gates to a shiny new Australia.” It’s not hosted anywhere yet, but will be. 😉

Today’s house cooling party (according to my dad) at the Eagan house. So much fun to see everyone again!

Debb’s sweet and unexpected gift. ❤

Appreciations Year Three: Day 178

The fun of finding Katie’s glasses which had been missing for 6 months or more. Here’s to cleaning out beneath the couch cushions… 😉

Lint rollers for removing the ever-present cat hair from my clothes, thereby concealing my crazy cat lady identity for at least a few minutes when I meet someone new. 😛

Taking a half-day off after doing just a little work. So good to relax and do nothing for a little bit.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 177 – The Book Edition

unsocial socialisthappy princeAnother excellent trip to Half Price Books! I love discovering books I haven’t read by authors I love. Last time I found a copy of George Bernard Shaw’s An Unsocial Socialist. This time I scored a copy of The Happy Prince and Other Stories by Oscar Wilde.

All aspects of reading… the pleasure of during, the fun of remembering when I’m done, and the anticipation before I start a new book.

Remembering the pure bliss of going to the library or filling out a Scholastic Books order form in grade school. 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 176

How balmy today felt without that darn wind blowing like crazy. Okay, balmy might be something of an exaggeration…. 😉

Super productive day at the Eagan house AND the Apple Valley house. We are making good progress on this move!

Sarah, who knows all the fun stuff and shares it with me — like this Fairy Tale Plot Generator we can use for rehearsals.

princess-and-birdsThis awesome plot it generated for me tonight:
The story is about a brave princess who must leave home, find a magic ring, and save a prince to overcome three challenges. Things are complicated by the villain kidnapping the main character’s brother. Assistance comes in the form of friendly birds.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 174

All the coffees of all kinds whenever possible. 😉

Google hangouts — for making it possible to do my meetings virtually today so I didn’t have to brave the sleet and snow!

Pencil_tip_closeup_2

Pens and pencils. We may need them less than we used to, but I’m still a fan. 🙂

Appreciations Year Three: Day 170

Bright blue skies and sunny pretend spring weather.

The good kind of tired you feel after a really solid day of work. Well, the good kind of tired I feel, that is 😉 …though we shoulda taken before and after pics of that craft and art supply closet — we got 20 years worth of supplies organized and packed into 2 bins!

The Current. What a fun and eclectic mix of music!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 157

Gorgeous warm weather for accomplishing errands.

Another productive day going through stuff with my mom. What an interesting process — and what fun thinking about where and when all that stuff came into the family.

glitter snow manGiggling over my early artwork – what an enthusiastic Christmas ornament maker I was!  And yes, I am keeping the glitter snowman I made when I was little. Really good art deserves to be preserved. 😉

Appreciations Year Three: Day 155

Hahaha! Last year’s day 155 appreciation was finding things – just like yesterday’s. That coincidence makes me giggle…. and what if it happens again next year!?!

Running water. The city had to shut off the water main today to do some work — makes having it back on again feel like a treat!

grampa's shadow boxSorting through things with my folks as they get ready to move. Nice to get to spend time with them — and to go through the treasures. Today I came home with my mom’s sketch books and journals and a beautiful shadow box my grampa made.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 151

Katie and Mckenzie. What a lucky mom I am to have such amazing kids. ♥

Another awesome duo workshop. Some of this material is blowing my improv mind. Yes, there is such a thing as an improv mind. 😛

David, who understands that the second movie in a double-feature that begins with Four Weddings and a Funeral is obviously Winnie the Pooh. 😉

Appreciations Year Three: Day 152

Sunny, slushy, spring-like weather!

Nice quick heart appointment – device checked out great – and 8+ years left on the battery. 🙂

Living in a house full of music. Someone is singing or playing something almost all the time. ♪♫♪♫
