All the butterflies who’ve been visiting me lately. This pretty little comma butterfly stayed perfectly still, though the branch was waving wildly in the wind, long enough for me to get a non-blurry photo. Thanks, little friend.

Finishing the room! Almost every aspect of this project took more time and ingenuity than one might guess. But don’t we feel satisfied now?! π One down, four to go.
Mckenzie for washing the car while I packed this morning. What a treat!
When things that might have been a catastrophe turn out not to be. Though I am very, very sad to miss spending time with Sarah and Ida and their family at their cabin, I am also incredibly grateful that I – and the other woman who ran over the same big, sharp, unavoidable whatever-it-was on the freeway – only got flat tires (well, tire AND busted wheel in my case) and that we made it to the side of the road safely.
I am also grateful that it happened close enough to the cities to be within my AAA radius instead of out in the middle of nowhere, and that the AAA guy was really nice – even changed the tire for the other woman, too, though she’s not a member. It was comforting to have another person there to chat with about the incident while we waited for help. I also appreciate all the little back roads I found to get me back home without having to stress my little compact spare tire at high speeds. And boy-oh-boy did I appreciate getting back home and being done with driving for today!
