The Art of Appreciating Class – June 20th!

I’m excited to announce that the results of our recent survey are in and we’ve set up our first Happy Brains workshop. Yay!

TheArtofAppreciating - 6:20:18

The Art of Appreciating: Small and Simple Ways to Create a Happier Life is coming up in Edina, MN on Wednesday, June 20th from 7-8:30pm. We’ll talk about why it’s important to teach our brains look for good things and how to do that. This workshop is not about squashing feelings of sadness, depression, or anger, but offers tools to help bring your life into balance—especially when the negative seems to outweigh the positive. You’ll leave this workshop with a smile on your face, a quick-tips guide to creating a happier life, and skills for finding more joy in every day.

Join us! Class size is limited, but there are still a few spots left! To get your spot, email me at diana@seriously-happy.com or call 612-709-2223. Yay!

Help me choose my first 3 workshops this summer!

Hello beautiful people! I am seriously happy to announce that I am setting up some fun summer happiness workshops. Yay!

I’ve been wanting to teach these for years, and now I can! I’ve connected with a couple back-up teachers who’ve agreed to step in if my unpredictable health rears its beastly head and prevents me from teaching. 😆 I’m so so so excited to share these tools with y’all and help you build them into habits that will improve your health, happiness, and well-being!

Here’s a fun thing: You can help me decide which of my workshops to offer first! For now, these will be in-person workshops offered here in the Twin Cities. By next year, I plan to have online versions ready so they’ll be available to even more people.

If you’re interested in helping me decide which workshops to offer first, I’d love your feedback! I’ve created a 2-minute survey you can take here. Please and thank you!

Seriously Good Stuff

I don’t often remember to hop over here to publish random links to happy stuff (which usually end up on my personal Facebook page). But here are a few fun things from the past week!

Video and story about super cool quantum physics sculptures that seem to disappear as you walk around them!

Accidental discovery of plastic-eating super enzyme!

Plus, big chain fast-food restaurant begins phasing out plastic straws.

Yale’s Science of Well-Being course taught online…for free! (Yes, I did sign up and begin the class this morning!!) 😄

Appreciations 3/27 – 4/15. Lots o’ stuff, complete with emojis. 😄

Fun Easter weekend! Family, food, and so. much. fun! 🌷

Getting to see Katie and Cina TWO weekends in a row. Brunches and playtime and car shopping (and ice cream!) Wheeeee! ✨✨✨

Taxes done with plenty of time (okay, 5 days…) to spare. 😆

Meeting with wonderful women to discuss My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem. What powerful book. I’m so grateful to be working through it with this amazing group. 💖

Hair festival.JPG

Most impressive hairdos presented at the 2018 Hair Festival. Um, yes, it was held in our basement at 8:16 pm last Tuesday. Did you NOT get your invitation??? 😉

Getting to see the gang at Mom and Dad’s this weekend….despite the absurd weather! We missed you Laura, Melanie and Andy. 🌨️❄️🌬️❄️🌨️

People making the proverbial lemonade by skiing and sledding down the middle of the street last night. 🛷 ⛷️

These two lovebugs (Sarah & Ida). I am so lucky I get to know and live with them! 💚💛🧡

Storytelling with Ida and Mckenzie. I love the things we learn…like that Ida won the race and was presented with a gigantic trophy lasterday. Lasterday!! 🏆

Kiki’s Delivery Service. So fun to watch it again after all these years. 😊

New babyWhile we are sad that our little Partridge Rock didn’t make it, we do love the little Ameraucana that has joined our family since. What a spunky, sweet little bird! 🐥

What’s in a name? A lot! Help us find a new one for our game!!

We just got some great feedback from a friend regarding the name of our game: M. D. Fun Bingo. She pointed out that lots of care providers are not MDs — and that maybe we’d want to reflect that in the name of our game. Yes! We do!

MDFUN-name-heart-stethoscopeI spend at least as much time with nurses, PAs, lab techs, schedulers, and other people on my care team as I do with my docs. And we want our game to be inclusive and accessible for as many people (patients and care providers) as possible. Thank you for that comment, Maria!

We would love to hear your thoughts about this. What ideas do you have for name alternatives? Let us know in the comments here or email me at diana@seriously-happy.com.

Please and thank you!
