Year 2 Day 19: Pre- Appreciation Practice

I appreciate:
My new pre-appreciation practice when I wake up – appreciating easy-to-overlook things like the fact that my heart beat and my breathing continued all night without me having to think about it, that I can hear the cats mewing for breakfast, that the sun rose again (also with no help from me…). 😛

Lovely gray Sunday morning full of potential fun. Robby and Shelley’s fabulous wedding! (Yes, there were bells available for those of us who wanted to be there with bells on.) I also love that I got to spend time with some of my favorite people, including Debb, Ivan, Cara, Ryan, Carol.

Unabashed, awkward dancing. Nothing like a little Love Shack to get us back out on the dance floor. (No, Ivan, I really do NOT want to see the photos you took…. Some things are better left as memories!)

That Hugs, Inc. is playing again tonight! Our final performance for this run. Come get your fill of love and hugs and improv — all in one place, for the low low price of Pay What You Can! 💗

Year 2 Day 18: Minneapolis, fast banking, eye contact, awkward tai chi

I appreciate:

  • Living in Minneapolis. I’m so close to everywhere I want to go!
  • Having my credit union just a few minutes away from my house. Fast banking.
  • Eye contact. I love to make eye contact with a cashiers and genuinely wish them a good day. They seem to like it, too.
  • Tai Chi. I am so loving learning how to do it. Even in my awkwardness, I find so many moments of serenity and flow.

Year 2 Day 14: my brothers, Katie’s photos, my clients

I appreciate:

  • The chance to talk with my brother, Jeff, yesterday. I’m so lucky to have such smart, funny, interesting brothers!
  • Katie’s gorgeous photos — and our morning glories, which continue to beautify our days.
  • My amazing clients. Not only are they some of the most fun people to work with — they keep sending new, awesome clients my way.

Year 2 Day 12: gray skies, laundry cat, more improv play

I appreciate:

  • Gray skies. I know, I know by January I’ll have had enough of them – but after this long string of hot, sunny days, the gray is a nice change.
  • Laundry cat, laundry cat, goes wherever the laundry’s at…
  • Getting to play with more amazing improvisers tonight! Thanks for the fun, Samantha, Michael, Becky, Sean, and Katie!

Year 2 Day 11: problem solving with hammer, door knob, morning glories

I appreciate:

Being a creative problem solver. Problem? Kitty locked in office (no key). Creative solution? After exhausting all other methods (try every key in house, credit card between door and frame, lock picking, screwdriver wedged into lock, drilling out lock) and failing to open door, beat the crap out of the door knob until the sucker comes off.

The new, non-locking door knob Mckenzie and I installed.

Morning glories blooming. Hurray!
