Year 2 Day 116: getting stuff done, patient people, Patrick’s help

I appreciate:

  • Getting my jewelry orders completed and all the packages together for my other clients just in time to get to the PO before closing!
  • The patient people behind me in line and helpful postal worker who didn’t grouse about the time it took to get all 8 packages (including some going to India, Australia, and UK) sent on their way.
  • Patrick’s willingness to pick up cat food for me so I didn’t have to do any more errands!

Year 2 Day 114: friends, traditions, decorations

I appreciate:

  • Time with the Delaney girls last night. Oh so good for my heart – and they fed me a delicious dinner. Plus, I learned that my very plain black coat is “lovely” and that Katie “has a friend named Aunt Dinana!”
  • Our family tradition of going out at the last minute possible on one of the coldest days to pick our tree. The twist: this year we talked about exactly what we wanted before we got there (10 minutes before they closed), picked the first tree we saw, and were back on the way home in about 10 minutes. Good job, people!
  • The way having holiday decorations up inspires me to keep the house clean(ish). Two weeks of pretty house!

Year 2 Day 112: Pam, salad, sweaters

I appreciate:

  • Pam, whose lively, funny, bright energy fills me with joy even when I’m just thinking of her, and whose daily appreciations are so thoughtful and lovely!
  • An amazingly delicious salad for lunch at Living Waters Cafe.
  • Sweater, blankets, socks, and slippers for end-of-the day cozy time.

Year 2 Day 111: snow, Toby, Nyquil

I appreciate:

  • The beauty of the snow. Helps make up for the temperature….
  • Toby kitty always making me laugh. Last night: “Huh, what’s this? Lettuce? Oh, dinner!” Then this morning I find that he is helping protect the floor in the hall from stray hairs that might be falling. (He is not concerned, apparently, about the shower.) Goofy cat!
  • Nyquil, which, if taken at 4:30 am can help one sleep until 8 am for a grand total of nearly 8 hours of sleep! Hooray!

Year 2 Day 110: pretty winter, yummy breakfast, waking up early

I appreciate:

  • That at least if I wake up early from my cold, I get to pad out to the kitchen and turn on the lights around the window and say, “Aw, pretty,” when I see them against the darkness outside.
  • That if I’m tired from waking up at what-the-hell o’clock, I might accidentally put a pan of bacon in the oven before I realize that I’m cooking (which I do not do) and then by the time the coffee kicks in and starts my brain I have a yummy breakfast surprise waiting for me.
  • The excited thought that since I woke up several hours before I’d planned to, I have SO many more hours in the day and I’ll be able to do SO many more things (not yet realizing that 3 of those things will be a nap)
