Appreciations 11/24-11/28: Good friends, good docs, good plan.

You guys! Guess where I am? At the hospital. Again. I’m fine and should be going home tomorrow. At some point I’ll add this adventure to my Caring Bridge page. Long story short is that my heart started playing fast and loose with rhythm again. It took some doing (and a few meds and a couple shocks), but they got it reset and we have a plan for moving forward. So, yay!

Sarah says it’s time for me to stop beta testing our MDFun Bingo game, so I guess the next step is to make it available for other folks. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are a few of the many, many things I noticed appreciating during this particular sojourn…

Dedicated, determined, and delightful staff in the ER, ICU, and the rest of the hospital.

How willing people are to join me in having fun even under weird and/or stressful situations.

All the medical stuff that keeps on keeping me going.

The profoundly wonderful people in my life. Aside from the outpouring of love and support, here are a few other things I especially appreciate…

Mckenzie’s company during our surprisingly scary time in the ER.

Visits from Sarah, Katie, Cina, and Terri which somehow managed to be incredibly silly and supportive at the same time.

Sarah, again, for bringing me a pinwheel – and for being willing to help me get my will written out when we weren’t sure what was next. Talk about bestie-roomie. Whew!

Terri, again, for volunteering to be my official pinwheel blower – and for our awesome discussion of my funeral, which of course would include improv or skits, costumes, and laughter. (Don’t worry. It’s been decided that this gig isn’t scheduled any time soon. You still have decades to prepare your material!)

Hilarious running jokes about pee with the ICU nurses. Oh how fun when they play right along!

More pee jokes with my hospital roommate since we were both on a diuretic at the same time…and shared a bathroom.

Gorgeous view of the river from my bed.

Chocolate pudding. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Katieโ€™s hospital hair braiding services. This is far more important than you know.
Quiet, perfect fan to adjust temp in our steamy room.

Plenty of people and things to appreciate, an iPad to work on, and something fun to do during the wee hours of the morning when I can’t sleep.

Appreciations 11/18-11/23

Breakfast with Alison & Amy. It was a good day!

Updating the Seriously Happy website with Sarah. Every time we work on our projects I feel, well, seriously happy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Our silly, sweet chickens. They are such funny & fascinating critters. And it looks like theyโ€™re going to start laying soon!

Quiet holiday at home finishing up our hobbit door on the garage and starting some holiday baking.

Bubble time!

Appreciations 11/5 – 11/17: my good life – good food, good company, good activities, good fridge, good toothbrush, good photos, good legos, good chickens.

Wonderful dinner with Katie and Cina and Mckenzie and Sarah and Ida. Happy home.

Voting. Yes. I like to vote.

Instant run-off election. So interesting to vote this way. Plus fun.

Wake up at 4 am? Sure. What to do? Clean and organize long neglected freezer and fridge? Obviously.

New. Sonicare. Head.

Pam’s stunning series of B&W pics. Love.

Lego. House!

Chickens.

The longest year… or not. Here’s to Year 6 of appreciations. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Lately I’ve been thinking that Year 5 of my appreciations seems like it’s been REALLY long. Today I figured out that it might possibly be because I actually started year 6 in August! ๐Ÿ˜†ย #timeflies

Here are a few other delightful things I’ve stumbled across lately. If you want to catch all of my fabulous finds, you can follow Seriously Happy on Facebook.

Healing the political divide in Minnesota. I love this!ย The ground rules for their discussion are just like the ones we use in our race discussion group. Good boundaries lead to amazing conversations and discoveries. So good!
