Year 1, Day 24: coincidences, synchronicity, “it’s a small world” moments

Today I appreciate :

  1. Learning that one of my improv classmates can only turn her hand 90ΒΊ – just like my brother (not a very common problem.)
  2. Talking to 2 people from completely different parts of my life (improv classmate and friend from high school) and learning that they are both getting their motorcycle licenses this week — but DON’T have a motorcycle. πŸ™‚
  3. Learning that my improv instructor, Michael Bruckmueller, not only knows, but has done improv with TWO of my double-first cousins from Duluth!

Year 1, Day 23: 23, flat rate mailing boxes, Sharpie markers

I appreciate:

  1. The number 23. Not only is it the date of my birthday, but it’s just good number fun. I also like 34, 45, 56, 67, 78, 89 and 1:23, 3:45 etc. Remember how much I like my own geekiness? Oh, it just shows up in so many ways!!
  2. Flat rate priority mail boxes. So easy to ship Pat P’s books for him — and get packages to my beautiful Katie out in Morris. No guessing — if it fits in the box, you know the cost!
  3. Sharpie markers. Especially when they’re crisp and new!

Year 1, Day 22: sticky notes, calculator, appreciation practice

I appreciate:

  1. Bright pink sticky notes that wake me up (and remind me of easily forgotten things)!
  2. My favorite Casio calculator that I’ve had since high school Algebra. I love this calculator!! (Yes, I know this calls me out as a geek. I love my geekiness, too.) πŸ˜›
  3. The effects of having a daily appreciation practice — especially on a day with too little sleep and various minor physical complaints. Helps get me started on a much more positive note! β™₯

Year 1, Day 52: cinnamon toast, sunshine, slippers

I appreciate:

  1. Cinnamon toast and chamomile tea. Thank you for helping me feel better!
  2. Sunshine streaming through the window, warm and friendly. Thank you for making me feel so cozy.
  3. Slippers! Better than socks, better than shoes. Maybe I’ll start wearing them all the time. That wouldn’t seem at all odd. πŸ˜›

Year 1, Day 21: Huge Theater, Uniquely Attainable, rose quartz

I appreciate:

  1. Huge Improv’s awesome Splendid Things on Saturday, what will surely be an amazing Show X tonight and 401 class starting Tuesday. Can’t wait!
  2. Uniquely Attainable which happened to be parked in my neighborhood yesterday. Scored a great find for Katie’s birthday in just a couple minutes. Coolest shopping ever!
  3. Rose quartz in all forms, but especially the chunks lying around my house – including the candle holder. What a nice energy that stone has! πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 19: orange things

I appreciate orange things:

  1. Delicious cantaloupe for breakfast.
  2. The color of the tulips in Katie’s stunning photos (plus I appreciate Katie!)
  3. More wonderful orange food for dinner – carrots and sweet potatoes. I bet I got enough beta carotene today.

Year 1, Day 18: Dealing with Dragons, Chinaberry, Go, Dog. Go!

I appreciate:

  1. Patricia Wrede’s book, Dealing with Dragons. I’ve loved it from the first time I read it to Katie when she was 6 or 7 and love re-reading it now. One of my all-time favorite books!
  2. Chinaberry, which is probably where I learned about Dealing with Dragons — and so many other beloved books.
  3. Go, Dog. Go! (oh, how I loved that party scene!), Harriet the Spy, Catwings, Mr. Putter & Tabby Bake the Cake, Little Women, A Wrinkle in Time, The Awakening, Pride and Prejudice and so many other books that I’ve read, loved, re-read and shared with the kids. Yay books! πŸ˜›

Year 1, Day 16: Seriously Happy, sunshine, TCWN

I appreciate:

  1. My new business, Seriously Happy. Every time I read an article, work on the website or create new materials for it, I get soooooo happy! (the alternate name for the company, haha!) πŸ˜›
  2. Beautiful, sunny weather and the best neighborhood for walking around in it.
  3. Twin Cities Wellness Network meeting this morning….so many like-minded people supporting each other. Love it!
