- The sense of satisfaction after cleaning something extremely dirty.
- My funny, generous, wonderful kids.
- The extremely friendly (and for some reason interested in our lives) check out people at whole foods. What a fun exchange!
Appreciations Year 1
Year 1, Day 344: beautiful flowers, walking, cups
- More beautiful flowers. Did I mention how much I love my neighborhood?
- Walking. The best form of daily meditation for me. The movement keeps my mind from jumping to the next thing.
- This video. Everything to love – harmony, rhythm, people doing something they love and having fun. ♥
Year 1, Day 343: wonderful people, support network, new challenges
- Getting to work with such engaged, smart, open people. I keep meeting new wonderful people!
- The incredible support network in my life. No matter what’s going on for me, the people around me are incredibly kind.
- New challenges. I feel unsettled and unsteady, but I like the sense of my life being in motion.
Year 1, Day 342: kitten intensity, kitten acceptance, caffeine
I appreciate:
- Kitten intensity…funny little tumbler when he’s playing, ferocious purrer when he’s going to sleep.
- That LunaCat is beginning to accept Toby. Maybe they’ll be friends someday?
- Caffeine in all it’s forms. So helpful.
Year 1, Day 341: Tai Chi, kittens, time with Sarah
- Learning Tai Chi with gentle, lovely people.
- Getting to see 4-day old kittens! Oh, my, how wonderful!
- Spending time with Sarah, who introduced me to both the Tai Chi class AND the kittens. What a wonderful start to the day!
Year 1, Day 340: little happies, funny friends, really good Saras
I appreciate:
- Feeling happy about little things of no consequence. And feeling happy about them over and over again during the day!
- Having really, really funny friends, the likes of whom can make my early-morning encounter with a centipede (ugh!!) the source of great happiness.
- Meeting with Sara. Really, really so good in so many ways.
Year 1, Day 339: acceptance, moving forward, trimmed Toby and asparagus
- Asparagus. Um yum-diddly-um-dum yum!
- Waking up overwhelmed and depressed, accepting that that’s just how it is some days and knowing that it’s not permanent.
- Finding ways to both be in the moment of sadness and then to find ways to move into productivity.
- Toby with trimmed toenails. Soooo much less painful!
Year 1, Day 338: catching up, coexistence, cool cars
I appreciate:
- Catching up with friends this week. What a lucky girl I am to have such funny, bright, amazing friends.
- That Luna and Toby are beginning to learn to coexist. Luna is being very tolerant!
- This happy car! Katie sent me the pix awhile ago and I forgot about them. Fun!

Year 1, Day 337: sunshine, friendship, friend time
- Sunshine and breeze. The perfect combination for a long walk!
- Friendships that span decades. There is something so rich and beautiful about these special friendships.
- Getting to spend time with Suzie yesterday. What a fun evening!!
Year 1, Day 336: baby steps, purring, silliness
- Baby steps…like my baby-step meditation practice: 10 breaths today.
- Purring. What a wonderful thing to make a rumbly sound whenever you’re content! Thanks, Luna.
- Silliness with the kids yesterday: “Toby or not Toby, cat is the question.”
