Doing things my way – my take on the “Be like” meme

If you’re a Facebook user, you’ve probably seen the “Be like Bill” meme. I like to participate in silly games like that, so clicked on it to get my personalized “Be like Diana” image to post… but after clicking “Try again” 5 or 6 times, didn’t get one I wanted to post. Some of them are sort of funny — and I celebrate everyone who is enjoying them — but mostly they feel too narrow (m/f only for gender) and shaming for my taste.

I am lucky to have the tools at my disposal to find a way to play (thank you, Photoshop!) and made a couple that fit better for me. 😀

Appreciations 4.157 – luxury

Upside-DownLuxurious morning! Woke up at 5:30 and did Qi Gong. I love how it feels in the moment and I’m so excited to see what the long term effects will be when I’ve been doing it for awhile. Snuggled back under the covers, savoring thoughts of my sweet Saturday and pondering possibilities for today.

Got up and drew and wrote and colored while sipping delicious coffee. I love quiet time like this, with no time pressure, no deadlines or meetings or schedules to consider.

The openness of today. It’s been a long while since I’ve had a whole unscheduled day. I wonder what I’ll do!

Appreciations 4.156 – so many things (mostly people)

Ah ha ha – last year’s appreciation for this date – I don’t even know what it means! 100 bonus points if you read this AND know what the heck I was talking about!:

“…Most excellent game of the wolf/panda/bunny/telephone operator, the loving hand, and the tent. Hahaha!”

It’s probably some improv thing, but I seriously don’t remember. 😛

The excellent chart for choosing book titles posted by the Toronto Public Library.  I LOVE that my book’s title is “Tender is the Ha Ha Ha (book one)”! Don’t you think I really should write that book? I kinda do!

Such a wonderful day of connecting with people! Started out with a short, but super sweet coffee time with Sara. So so so great to see her again!

Then, my first Qi Gong lesson. It was fantastic! So amazing and fun! I am excited to make this part of my days. So so so good. 😀

Then, a lovely visit with Pam. Oh, we have so much fun and talk about such wonderful things. My heart feels so full and happy after we visit!

I love the people in my life so very much. I am unbelievably lucky. 💗

Really long, but productive work day. So many interesting projects to play with!!

Productive work day – two more taskies done that I’d been putting off!

Big projects done around the house, too. Got all the books moved up from the basement and organized up here! Only I don’t know what happened to my complete works of Shakespeare. Did I really give it away during the last round of eliminations?!? Fascinating. Also finally got the guest bedroom set up.

The best part of the day, of course, was dinner and a fun visit with Debb! How nice (for me!) that she sometimes has to come up to the city to work. 😉

Yes!

Quick coloring time this morning. Sometimes one word is enough. 🙂

Sunny sunny sunshine. What a beautiful thing to look out and see snow crystals bathed in the bright light.

Hearing from my Mom this morning that folks are still talking about how much fun laughter yoga was! They even did a little during exercise class this morning. Fun!

Discovering some possible simple solutions to the big, big tiredness I’ve had lately.

Appreciations 4.151 – modern comforts

Going to sleep on a comfortable bed, under warm, just-out-of-the-dryer sheets (having washed same in my own home) in a warm, not too dry (thanks to the humidifier) room. Starting the day making delicious coffee from freshly-ground beans and water heated on the stove and drinking it from a mug washed while I slept. It’s easy to take these things for granted, but how comfortable and simple they make my days. 🙂

Getting an email from my Dad this morning, letting me know that he had a great night of sleep following yesterday’s laughter yoga. How exciting to see those laughter benefits so quickly! 😀

My doc’s new practice of using wrap instead of bandaids after a blood draw. Makes for much more comfortable removal. 😉

You are lovedAnother lovely start to the day – coloring and meditation music. Mmmmm. Used some of that serenity when I went out to find the car wouldn’t start! 😉

I love that I had a feeling that I should do errands and come back home before leaving for today’s gig  – instead of stopping on my way out as I’d planned! It gave me enough time to arrange a ride (thanks, Dad!) and get out to Apple Valley in plenty of time to lead laughter yoga. 🙂

So much fun laughing with a big group of engaged, enthusiastic, excellent laughers today! Very good, very good, yay!! 😀

AAA’s terrific service. I’m glad I got to sit inside my house while I waited for them to come out and jump the car. It was really quick — and now my car’s all happy again. 🙂 The friendly, helpful guy who came out said he stopped counting how many jump starts he’d done today after about 60!

Morning coloring – a new No Soliciting sign to replace the holiday themed one. Katie made our first one a couple years ago – might as well be friendly! We’ve had a sign like this up for ages and nobody’s really said anything, but for some reason, in the past week several people coming to the door have chuckled and commented on it. 😀

Having my dictionary/thesaurus app right on my toolbar. I use it all the time! 🙂

Wonderful visit with Terri, Ellis, Ruby, and Katie today. We talked about love languages and coloring and gifts and soup and played with LunaKitty and it was just the best thing ever. So many Ruby snuggles. Mmmmmm.
