Sweaters, slippers, space heaters, and extra blankets. I’m so glad to have lots of ways to keep warm, well, warm-ish 😉 while waiting for the furnace fixer person to appear.
Funny Toby made his own cozy home this morning. Then, after I made the bed (this afternoon!), he gave me the cold shoulder. Looks like all is forgiven, though.
Cats who hamper my ability to work, but are cuddly and purry and warm.
Nice visit with my folks today! Got to figure out the staging plan for Women of a Certain Height improv show next week, fixed up Mom’s iPad and FB issues, got some computer stuff done, and had a nice visit. Plus I came home with gluten-free goodies from Mom. 😀
Things magically fixing themselves — at least temporarily. When I got home, the house was freezing (60º), but when I cranked up the heat, we only got cool air. By the time (about 30 minutes later) I called to schedule someone to come out, the furnace decided to start blowing warm air again. Thank you, furnace. Nice to have a warm-ish house (it’s up to 64º now!) for sleeping tonight. Makes me really appreciate all the cold days when the furnace works so well I don’t even have to think about it.

Another wonderful vet visit at Uptown Vet. Poor Toby is such an anxious cat, but everyone there was very sweet and gentle with him! I even got some ideas on how to help him become a less anxious kitty. 🙂

Yesterday was a fuzzy day after my late night, but I was left with enough energy to get so many taskies done. Got the house tidied up, laundry and dishes done, groceries bought. All before the chilly chilliness came back. Today I only have to leave the house to take TobyCat to the vet. The rest of the day will be cozy at-home working. I like it!
Working for clients who are beautiful, bright people, making the world a friendlier, more fun, more interesting, more loving place with the work they do. How wonderful that I get to look forward to my Monday mornings. 🙂
A peek of sunshine to brighten the afternoon.
It’s a little hard to find words to adequately describe Ellis‘ CD release concert last night. 
The open-hearted joy passing back and forth between Ellis and the audience was palpable. Her unbelievably beautiful music, with her strong, clear, gorgeous voice, perfectly balanced accompaniment, and soul-stirring lyrics bewitched us and transported us to some new level of joyful in-the-moment living. What a treat to watch her and Rad playing together and having so much fun as they created a new kind of magic. Every song was amazing in its own way and Ellis’ stories made us laugh and cry and whoop and holler with glee. And OMG the Desdemona-Ellis-Nina Simone folk rap mashup! O. M. G. No words – you just had to be there. 😀 The night was made even better for me, by getting to share it with people I adore! So many fun moments of shared joy and love. It was an incredible night and I am profoundly grateful for having been part of it.

Funny, fickle winter. Warmish and cloudy one day, a foot of snow the next, colder and sunny right after that. I am happy to be working in my pjs this morning, sipping coffee and looking out a the marshmallow topped roofs in the alley. I will venture out in the warm (20º) afternoon. 😉
The amazing effect Qi Gong seems to be having on my sleep. Even though I stayed up late last night and only logged about 5 hours of sleep, it was a much better quality of sleep than I used to get. Cool!

The kitties settling back down into their more or less peaceful coexistence. After the kerfuffle this past weekend, they were very hissy and growly for a bit, but now they seem to be over it. Whatever it was!

My solution to a feeling a little overwhelmed? Draw some shapes on a note card and make a little 2-day list it. It’s hard to be overwhelmed by a list with colorful friendly shapes on it. 😉
A lovely visit with Jeff & Maura last night. So great to have fun neighbors just a few steps away. A few really, really snowy steps. 😉 It was great to catch up and I got excellent tips on fun fruit, cabins in a box, and silent sneezing. 😀
