Appreciations 4.195

IMG_4051It is interesting to me how quickly I adapt to some things and how slowly to others. When we have an unusually warm day amidst a bunch of cold days, I switch to warm weather thinking almost instantly and feel surprised when it’s cold the next day. But for things like having unpredictable energy levels… well, I don’t adapt so quickly! Even though it’s been almost 3 years since the onset of my heart failure, I still wake up every day assuming I’ll be full of energy! ๐Ÿ™‚ Some days I am – and some days, not so much. My expectation that I’ll have tons of energy never really seems to change, though. I guess I kinda like that little optimist inside me who keeps thinking that. ๐Ÿ˜€

Meanwhile, I am incredibly grateful that I have a comfortable bed and a schedule that allows me to do as I did last night โ€” get jammied up by 9 and climb into bed, ready for sleep before 10 โ€” and stay there until 8:30 this morning. Very grateful for that!

I just re-read a bunch of entries from the old Caring Bridge page Pat and I set up (I was trying to remember – has it really been 3 years?!?) and am reminded again of how amazing you all are. When all that craziness happened all at once for us, you showed up with love and food and laughter and hugs and support in every imaginable way. I am so grateful to you all for being the most lovely friends a person could want. ๐Ÿ’—

Looking forward to hanging out with Sammy today. It’s so nice to get to play with a dog now and then… but not have the responsibility of taking care of him all the time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Appreciations – 4.194

IMG_4049Benadryl for those times when it’s 1:30 am and I’m dead tired….but somehow still awake!

Waking up to sunny skies. I know my appreciations include sunshine all the time, but it’s only because I appreciate sunshine all the time. ๐Ÿ˜€

Looking forward to an exciting day of tax prep before my meeting this afternoon. First time I have my ducks in a row before April in at least a decade. So exciting! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Starry doodles for no reason.

Appreciations 4.193 – Caucus day adventures

IMG_4045Wonderful morning with Debb! Time for coffee, a little work, and delicious breakfast at Original Pancake House. Yum! It’s been such a treat getting to see her more often!

We saw the most amazing vans outside the restaurant. Debb laughed and said she knew if I had a car like that, she’d find me outside with my markers, coloring it in. She’s right! Hahaha!

The super sweet clerk at Petco who came to the rescue when I got to the checkout and realized I didn’t have my bank card (and was feeling a bit anxious about where it might be!). He found a coupon and donated 70ยข of his own money to add to my cash so I could buy my cat food. Yes, I’ll be going up there today with a Caribou gift card to say thanks. ๐Ÿ˜€

The relief of finding my bank card in the pocket of my other coat (one I rarely wear, which is why I was so confused!). So happy I didn’t have to cancel the card and wait for a new one. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was pleased to see SO many people (line snaking around the block) out caucusing tonight. It made for a long evening, but I do love it when people feel engaged and interested…including me. Pretty happy I dragged my tired butt out after all. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Also, i just love Minnesota. ๐Ÿ’—

Appreciations 4.192 redux

Awesome first mastermind meeting. So many stellar ideas and lots of fun. Yay!

Dinner with Debb and Michelle at Punch Pizza. Great conversation and amazing-OMG-so-delicious pizza. Their gluten-free crust is even delicious! My new favorite pizza place.

Visting with Debb. Always such a treat!!

Appreciations 4.190 – light

So much light these days. I love this time of more and more daylight, grass peeking out, birds singing.

Lovely chat with Timmy this morning! Such a wonderful start to the day… sunshine and connecting with my dear friend! ๐Ÿ™‚

Making progress on massive projects. I feel so lucky to be in a place where undertaking the big tasks even feels possible!

Appreciations 4.189

I appreciate that I am so interested in the stuff of my life that I sometimes maybe rush back into it a little quicker than is, strictly speaking, wise. Achoo! ๐Ÿ˜› Oh, well! Yesterday was fun and today I did more resting and will head to bed early again.

Yesterday’s fun trip down memory lane, listening to songs I wrote a few (or many!) years ago. Got me thinking of going back and actually finishing some of them (they’re almost all drafts written in an hour or so. I’m pretty good at starting songs, but not so good at finishing them!) Hmmmm. That’d be an interesting project. Some are from so long ago I don’t even remember writing them….but that’s my voice on the recording, so I must’ve. Hahaha!

More Wodehouse wonders…. like this description of a toddler: “His walking was a bit amateurish and his speech rather hard to follow …” Accurate and hilarious.

Quick healing – already feel like I’m over the worst of the cold that started Monday. Phew!

Listening to Ellis’ new CD, The Guest House and then Ray Charles’ Genius Loves Company while I did a little busy work. Fun!

I am feeling the genius of naming my company Seriously Happy. I end up saying things like, “I got my seriously happy checks in the mail today,” and “I’m going to do some seriously happy work now.” And since I don’t yet have address labels, writing:

Seriously Happy
Diana Korpi

as the first two lines of my return address. ๐Ÿ˜€
ย
This makes me happy. Seriously. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Watching this morning’s fine powdered sugar snow morph into puffy cotton fluff snow.

Looking forward to a day of working and napping. I am so glad I can work in my pjs and take breaks of whatever length whenever I need to. ๐Ÿ™‚

Coffee.
