Year 1, Day 19: orange things

I appreciate orange things:

  1. Delicious cantaloupe for breakfast.
  2. The color of the tulips in Katie’s stunning photos (plus I appreciate Katie!)
  3. More wonderful orange food for dinner – carrots and sweet potatoes. I bet I got enough beta carotene today.

Year 1, Day 18: Dealing with Dragons, Chinaberry, Go, Dog. Go!

I appreciate:

  1. Patricia Wrede’s book, Dealing with Dragons. I’ve loved it from the first time I read it to Katie when she was 6 or 7 and love re-reading it now. One of my all-time favorite books!
  2. Chinaberry, which is probably where I learned about Dealing with Dragons — and so many other beloved books.
  3. Go, Dog. Go! (oh, how I loved that party scene!), Harriet the Spy, Catwings, Mr. Putter & Tabby Bake the Cake, Little Women, A Wrinkle in Time, The Awakening, Pride and Prejudice and so many other books that I’ve read, loved, re-read and shared with the kids. Yay books! 😛

Year 1, Day 16: Seriously Happy, sunshine, TCWN

I appreciate:

  1. My new business, Seriously Happy. Every time I read an article, work on the website or create new materials for it, I get soooooo happy! (the alternate name for the company, haha!) 😛
  2. Beautiful, sunny weather and the best neighborhood for walking around in it.
  3. Twin Cities Wellness Network meeting this morning….so many like-minded people supporting each other. Love it!

Year 1, Day 14: complete painting project, clean-up help, to-do list completion, working with Mckenzie

I am grateful for:

  1. Finishing the painting in time for Mckenzie & me to see Show X at Huge!
  2. Pat’s willingness to clean up all the brushes etc from today’s project.
  3. The awesome sense of satisfaction from completing a project that’s been on my to-do list for 12 years!
  4. Mckenzie’s help with the painting- and his excellent music selections while we worked. 🙂

Year 1, Day 13: morning glories, Lake Harriet, KFNA Farmers’ Market

I appreciate:

1. The beautiful morning glories that have finally bloomed on our fence.
2. Living so close to Lake Harriet — and having the time and energy walk around it!
3. The Kingfield Farmer’s market – both in its bustling current-day state and the memory of sitting out there with coffee guy, soap lady, tea lady, and a handful of farmers, selling my jewelry (me, the jewelry lady) every Sunday during those first few years 🙂

Year 1, Day 12: purple chairs, David, GracieDog

I appreciate:

1. More purple furniture! Garage sale chairs we recovered ourselves. (I actually appreciate the green ones, too. And the memory of us each picking out our own fabric to use. And the fun of doing the project together….)
2. My friend David who makes me laugh and continually teaches me new coding tricks.
3. Our poor old GracieDog who, though she whines a lot now because she’s senile and confused, is a very sweet dog.

Year 1, Day 11: sidewalk chalk, hazelnut cocoa, this cool rock

1. I appreciate sidewalk chalk. I mean, really, what’s not to like?
2. I appreciate Ghiradelli Chocolate Hazelnut cocoa mix, which has no dairy and can be added to my favorite breakfast beverage for a spectacular (and inexpensive) mocha at home! Did I mention yum??
3. I appreciate this cool rock. The edge of the colored part reminds me of a butterfly. Oh — which I appreciated yesterday! Hahaha. 🙂
