• Invitations! I like being invited to things – looks like a fun coupla weeks coming up!
• Being missed. Thank you friends at RMSS who are keeping me updated on your adventures — and for missing me. I don’t know why, but it makes being here easier!
• Kitten cuddles. The perfect remedy when you’re a little under the weather. Almost as good as chicken soup!

• Being in Joyce’s line at Target yesterday. Whenever I can, I move to her line because she sings as she checks us out. We talked about “fake it til you make it” happiness. She is awesome!
• The humongous mushroom in our front yard. We’ve decided that with that and the baby bunnies living out there, it’s not really a front yard, but Wonderland. We expect to see the hookah smoking caterpillar soon.
• More awesome awesomeness in the ‘hood – a miniature door attached to a tree (over a knothole) with a rope ladder hanging down to the ground.

• The gorgeous weather predicted for this week. Enjoying long walks will help ease the homesickness I feel at not being at Rocky Mountain Song School this year…
• Toby’s continued cuteness. Really helps to remember this when he’s mewing at 3 in the morning.
• The fact that my neighborhood continually offers up new prettiness in the form of flowers. Seems like there’s something new to see every day.

• So much Fringe-y goodness: Getting to spend another afternoon with the beautiful Kathleen, and the bonus of seeing Corinna (who was also in line for the show) for the first time in years and years. Lovely surprise!
• The delightful cast of Hoosiers: The Stage Adaptation. What a terrific show!
• Also, the fun of Once Upon a Chalkboard’s beautiful show. I appreciate the chance to draw props and scenery and “be in a Fringe show” like I’ve always wanted to.

• Saturday! It won’t really matter that I didn’t sleep much last night since my to-do list is really more of an if-I-feel-like-it-I-might-consider-doing list.
• The possibilities available on a sunny weekend morning. Tai Chi? Yes! Coffee? Yes! Read the new UCB Comedy Improvisation Manual? Yes! See more Fringe shows? Yes!
• I also appreciate the word yes. YES!

• More neighborhood lilies. I keep thinking for sure I’ve seen every color lily there is….and then I see a new one.
• Bunnies. I’m very glad that’s what those babies in the nest in my front yard are — and that they’ll just leave on their own soon.
• Kitten silliness. Toby does more somersaults than any other cat I’ve had. What a goofball!

• “Dear Madde” at the Minnesota Fringe Festival!- so wonderfully weird, funny, and sweet! I especially loved her improvised songs about the wisdom of getting a Harry Potter tattoo and the Aimless Wanderer with Great Shoes. So much fringe-y goodness in one little show!
• Getting to spend a super fun evening with the lovely Kathleen.
• My truly wonderful job. Adding tracks from my friend Rob’s new album was So. Much. Fun! You will be thrilled when you get your copy. Trust me. It’s amazing!

I appreciate:

• That my beautiful friend, Pam, woke up on the WEIRD side of the bed this morning. Bwahahahaha! That’s the side I wake up on every day.
• Cozy gray morning resolving into sunny sunniness in time for me to take a quick walk.
• More Fringe Festival tonight. #yetanotherreasonilovempls

• My Song School family – I will miss you so much this year! Put your toes in the St. Vrain, say hello to the mountains, sing a silo song, and have a drink for me. Oh, plus hug everyone.
• A surprising little burst of energy late in the day – getting a project done at 7:30 – what??!!
• Thunderstormy evening, hanging out with the kids.

I appreciate:

• The fact that the kids and I have seen so many random pieces of clothes throughout the the city this week. Seen so far: 1 black sneaker, 1 black sandal, 1 pair of khaki pants, 1 cap. Still needed to complete the ensemble: socks, shirt, and jacket (we’ve decided we don’t need to find any underwear to complete the outfit).
• Settling into a new routine. Ha! Seems like that’s always happening. The new is always old, eventually.
• My blue water glass. It’s a nice weight and color.
