Shelter-in-place appreciations and more

With all that’s happening around the world right now, it seems like an excellent time to drop back in and share some appreciations, tools, support, and love here again. 😊

I post frequently on Facebook, so please do feel free to find me there, but I’ll start posting stuff here sometimes, too.

Due to my high-risk health situation, my household and I have been practicing extreme social distancing since March 13th. Like so many people across the world right now, we are learning to work with the new normal: asking for help, trying out new work-at-home routines, finding ways to offset COVID19 stress, living in this new and ever-changing reality.

I’ve gone back to posting appreciations since it is good for my own neural health, and they seem to lift others’ spirits, too. 😉Below you’ll find a big long round-up of the appreciations I’ve posted on FB so far.

More to come…

Love,
Diana

March 28th: Shelter-in-place day 15

We did it! We used up all our old chalk before the rain came.

And next we get to use the NEW chalk. Yes, it is in rainbow order at the moment. No, that will not last.

Oh, and in case you’re keeping track of our art supply status, we now have 48 pieces of sidewalk chalk, down from a gazillion little stubby pieces yesterday. 😄

Appreciations March 26th: Shelter-in-place day 13 (Cannon balls and hot springs don’t mix)

Here is today’s round of goodness.

Playing pretend with Ida. We are the superhero team Aquamarine (me) and the Horse (Ida). Fortunately, all the villains in the world (our next mission per the president of superhero high) were all eating. It was lunch o’clock. AND we were joined by our faithful sideback, Luna. Phew! 😊

Rubber band that just happens to fall in a treble-cleffy sort of way.

Playing Catan with the family.

Sitting here typing this list and listening to Ida sing a song whose refrain is: “Cannon balls and hot springs don’t mix!”

Appreciations March 23rd: Shelter-in-place day 10

I didn’t post yesterday because it was my turn to be sad and scared and cry and stare at the wall for awhile. You get to do that, too, if you want or need to.

Today I’m okay again, so will post some goodies that keep me going. Sending love out to you all. This is a weird and scary time and we need all the kindness, care, and consideration we can get. And give. ❤️

Here are a few things I appreciate from the past couple days.
• Yesterday’s “Chalk Walk” and leaving messages of love and encouragement as we walked.

• Playing pretty much ALL the games with Ida while her mom was in a meeting.

• FaceTime walk with Ellis. Staying connected even though we’re miles apart. 😄

• Katie and Cina’s generous delivery service…Target order, co-op (we were out of fruit!!) AND coffee.

• Socially distanced walk wherein the girls did all the complicated backward walking so we could easily talk. So good to stay connected and safe at the same time. 💚

• Talking with my folks… I am so proud of them for learning to use FaceTime!!

Appreciations March 20th: Shelter-in-place day 7

Appreciation game! Play along if you like. My turn: Here are 3 things I appreciate right now…

1. Finishing up inventory/organizing of bingo cards – with my darling friend and efficiency officer, Sarah. She is REALLY, really good at systematizing processes!

2. Real in-person encounter (from 10 feet away) with Katie & Cina. It was so good to see their faces! 💜 Plus they dropped off bread from Great Harvest Bread.

3. Watching Ida invent fun as she set up an obstacle course for herself, stripped down to her skivvies, did some VERY bendy stretches to warm up, and then ran the obstacle course. So. Much. Love. ❤️

Your turn! What are 3 things you appreciate right now?
