Unbelievably warm weather. Wow!

Rock candy 2015Annual rock candy making date with my mom. I have to remember not to wear black, though… It makes too tempting a palette for the powdered sugar. 😛

This sweet little cinnamon heart Katie made for me while she was pouring the candy. ❤ cinnamon heart

colorful vines 10-10-15The brilliant vine growing all along the back fence. So pretty to look out and see those vibrant colors! Getting some serious pruning and weeding done in the backyard. Still a long ways to go, but we made a good start! And we had perfect weather for some yard work. Thanks, Mckenzie!

Fun lunch with my sibs! 😀 I am still trying to understand how I am able to drive 15 minutes and see Jeff & Laura. What?!? 😛 Thanks for the fun afternoon, Laura!

Evening of couch time to rest up from my day of activity. 😉

The first sip of coffee in the morning. It is always a welcome thing, but some mornings it is simply exquisite. Today was one such day. 🙂

The quality of light at this time of year. Driving around the lakes the sky went from dull gray to vivid blue with golden streaks of sunshine lighting up the trees. During the hour or so I was out doing errands, it shifted back and forth several times. What fun to watch the light alter the landscape like that!

Super fun evening catching up with David and watching Spy. I love watching Melissa McCarthy do her thing!

More wonderful work with my lovely clients. What an amazing job I have. 🙂

Thinking about the people in my life. I am continually astonished by my great good fortune to know and love people who regularly inspire, amuse, and delight me. I am so lucky. ❤

Appreciations 4.48 – words, colors, warmth, helpful folks

More delightful words I encountered today: Sanguine. Propinquity.

trees on pleasant 10:7:15Colors. I realize I talk about/appreciate them every day, but wowsers. The view down this street is just going to get more and more amazing during the next week or so. So fun to watch the transition! Those flaming leaves against the azure sky are just knocking my socks off.

Socks off! Sandal weather on October 7th! True, I added long pants and a sweater, but still. Glorious weather for a midday walk!

The helpful people of Minneapolis. Clearly this planter was having some trouble seeing, so somebody found it a pair of glasses so it could see the fall leaves, too. 😛 planter with glasses

rainbow to do listAlways looking for fun during the work day, I have a new way to do my to-do lists. Yes, it involves coloring. 😉

Bird adventures in (and on!) the house and car this week… When we were at the laundromat on Sunday, we went out to sit in the car for a few minutes since there were no open seats inside, and a huge crow flew first past the car and then landed on the roof! !!!! …and that bird was HUGE! Then this morning, a woodpecker decided to do some drumming on the house (which is stucco) for a few minutes, and then a beautiful cardinal couple hung out in the bush in front of the window for a while. Hello birds!

The season of amazing color changes. I love how altered the leaves look from one day to the next. Big blazes of red throughout the neighborhood today!

Eggcorns and Mondegreens!

Sara, for being a delightful friend on so many levels… and for understanding that I needed to know about the Mischief Toy Store RIGHT AWAY. 🙂

Another exhilarating night of singing with my beautiful Earthtones friends. AND I get to sing another low alto part with my buddy Pam! 😀

Hearing all the good newses from Pam today. I love when my friends’ lives go well!! ❤

Another gorgeous morning spent with my sweet friend Sarah and darling Ida. Walked up to the Farmer’s Market and around the ‘hood. Pure bliss on so many levels. ❤

veggie scrambleDelicious farm veggie scramble with today’s farmer’s market haul – zucchini, scallions, tomatoes, and spinach. Yum!

Despite starting the day low on energy, I got a second wind late this afternoon… and finished out the day pretty darn satisfied – besides my awesome morning with the Duncan girls, I got a new cover letter and resume written, went to the laundromat and got all the laundry cleaned, folded, and put away, bought groceries, cleaned the kitchen, and logged more than 12,000 steps for the day. Phew. And now to bed…. 🙂

Katie’s rainbow birthday present. I like snark. I also like rainbows (the rainbow presents — all rainbow items — were in the black box). 😉

Apple picking with Katie, Cina & Mckenzie. I love this tradition – and what nice weather we got! We decided to pick Cortlands & Sweet Tangos this year. The Cortlands are ginormous! And tasty! 🙂 IMG_3436

IMG_3437So much fun hanging out with my work & prov buddies Amy & Alison. Oh how they delight me. ❤

Appreciations 4.43 – good sleep, new audio book, gift-giving fun

A really good night of sleep. Not sure what all the hubbub was earlier this week, but last night sure was a nice change of pace! 🙂

Finding the BBC radio dramatisation of Wodehouse’s Joy in the Morning – with Richard Briers (from Good Neighbors) playing Wooster. Oh what fun! Doesn’t matter that I just finished this book. Richard Brier’s Bertie is spectacular. Oh, fun fun fun.

The glee I feel when assembling and wrapping a gift that is both very silly and sure to please its recipient. I love when things line up perfectly like that. 😀
