Appreciations Year Three: Day 325

Laundromats for getting 6 loads of laundry (ALL the towels and ALL the rugs that were in the laundry room when the water heater broke) done at one time. Pretty nifty!

Vacuum cleaners for making broken glass removal SO much easier.

Knowing that I don’t have to take life too seriously, so I can laugh at the absurdity of a week like this last one. πŸ˜€

The way that a little adversity reminds me a) that I am surrounded by an incredibly supportive, loving, wonderful community of friends and family and b) that I’ve lived a pretty charmed life and can handle a few bumps in the road. (Though having re-realized that, I now hereby give myself permission to live a bump-free life for awhile! Hahaha!)

Knowing how and having good reasons to laugh and smile every day. I appreciate all the people and ideas and thoughts that got me to this place. ❀

Little chat with the chipmunk this morning.

Wonderful canoe ride with Alison to say goodbye to the lake. Perfectly blue skies, warm sun, nice breeze. Bye bye lake.

Nice ride home with Katie. Lots of singing!

Home. Kitties. Bed. Sleep!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 323

Magical restoration of internet connection just long enough to get done what needed to get done. Thanks for the magical boost, Alison. πŸ™‚

Annual trip into Sammy’s with the gang. So good!

A little bocce ball and slapdash in the afternoon, always fun.

Gorgeous evening canoe ride with Alison and Katie and our little communion with the mama and papa loons. What a beautiful evening!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 322

I realize I’ve already appreciated this, but I really appreciate again how amazing it smells up here. The air and trees and plants all mix and mingle and create the single best smell there is. ❀

Another lovely walk with my dad. πŸ™‚

Daytime puzzling with Heidi, Debb, and my mom Β (with musical help from Ivan) – no flashlights needed!

The arrival of Alison and Katie. Yay! It is so much fun to have them up here. Alison thinks the cabins are “cute” β€” which I think is cute. πŸ˜€

Appreciations Year Three: Day 321

Perfect sunny, warm-but-not-hot day with blue skies and a gorgeous lake.

sand castle 7-15 Someone’s diligent sand-castling.

Wonderful little canoe trip with my dad down to the creek including a visit from a loon, who floated along beside us (well 10 feet away, but much closer than usual) for a minute. ❀

late night puzzle

Silly late night puzzle completion (using our flashlights on our phones) with my mom and Debb. It was well past bed time, but we did it!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 319

Oohhhh the smell of the north woods. There is nothing better, imho.

Watching the last of the fireworks from across the lake. Oh, and my really super-good amazing photos. πŸ˜‰

Waking up to the sound of loons. Yes. πŸ™‚

Nice talk with Rob this morning. It is so fun to catch up with excellent people.

The sound of the wind in the trees, open windows and bird songs all day, bare feet, good, deep breaths.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 318

Fun visit with Jeff & Laura & Tom. How exciting to have all the sibs back in one state pretty soon!

Last night’s delicious and fun dinner with the Delaneys. ❀

Yet another excellent visit with David and Dawn, featuring Dawn’s great excitement over Friday fireworks. What fun to be around such enthusiasm!!

What? Another beautiful day with sunny skies and perfect temperatures? Mmhmm. Yes. Just the thing for a nice walk to the coffee shop with Katie! Oh, and pretty flowers along the way, that’s a bonus. πŸ™‚

Weirdo Toby, putting himself in some kind of kitty time out between the shower curtains. Hahahaha!

A day with so many hours there was plenty of time for everything: work, socializing, household tasks (and miraculously smooth and fast errands – three stops and back home in under and hour!!) Awesome!

Appreciation Year Three: Day 316

Okay, so there’s gorgeous weather….and then there’s Bwahahahahaha-I-LOVE-it gorgeous weather. That’s what we’ve been getting lately and it is absolutely the best! πŸ™‚

Black raspberries from the backyard…a little early this year, and so delicious.

Summer eating, oh my heavens β€” cantaloupe, asparagus, and berries, oh my!
