Appreciations Year Three: Days 162 & 163

Day 162
The feel of the keys of my laptop and the fun of typing. Sometimes it feels just like playing the piano, only with words. And you can use backspace to fix mistakes. πŸ˜‰

My predictably excited response to a challenge – even one I arbitrarily set for myself.

My new step-counter app on my phone. It drains the battery pretty quickly and is wildly inaccurate, but is still super fun!

Day 163
Every little bit of sunshine that comes our way. Ah ha ha ha! …The sunshine is like a breath of fresh air.

Vat-o-coffee to start the day.

All the improvisers and all the bits. I rarely comment or join in, but they brighten up my days. You know who you are. πŸ˜‰

Appreciations Year Three: Day 161

Heated home, car, everywhere I had to go today. Even though it’s “warm” (34ΒΊ) I am chilled to the bone today. Makes it easy to appreciate all the warm places I go!

Carrots.

no closet spaceMy yin and yang kitties – opposite in so many ways. Luna, the expert lap kitty, is such a timid jumper and Toby, the expert jumper (for reals — somehow he jumped up on top of boxes on the top of my closet the other day!), really doesn’t understand about sitting down and purring for any length of time. A cat for every occasion. πŸ˜‰

Appreciations Year Three: Day 159

Oh, the glorious sunshine and warm weather this morning. Made the walk up to the coffee shop feel beautifully spring-like!

Delicious Americano to keep my hands warm on the way back home. πŸ™‚

Reassuring check-in with the heart doc today.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 157

Gorgeous warm weather for accomplishing errands.

Another productive day going through stuff with my mom. What an interesting process — and what fun thinking about where and when all that stuff came into the family.

glitter snow manGiggling over my early artwork – what an enthusiastic Christmas ornament maker I was!Β  And yes, I am keeping the glitter snowman I made when I was little. Really good art deserves to be preserved. πŸ˜‰

Appreciations Year Three: Day 155

Hahaha! Last year’s day 155 appreciation was finding things – just like yesterday’s. That coincidence makes me giggle…. and what if it happens again next year!?!

Running water. The city had to shut off the water main today to do some work — makes having it back on again feel like a treat!

grampa's shadow boxSorting through things with my folks as they get ready to move. Nice to get to spend time with them — and to go through the treasures. Today I came home with my mom’s sketch books and journals and a beautiful shadow box my grampa made.

Appreciations Year Three: Day 154

Meeting with career coaches and feeling like this find-another-job thing is doable! πŸ™‚

Finding things…Β like the google spreadsheet I found whilst clearing out old google files the other day — it lists the states of the car license plates we saw on our Colorado road trip in 2011. Mckenzie and I just saw a Hawaii plate the other day and I wondered where the list I’d made was (we only have 6 more states to go!), assuming I’d tossed it. But no. Geeky McSmartypants (that’s me!) made a SPREADSHEET for it. Hahaha! Also, I thought I lost my favoritest favorite ring after class tonight, but then I found it by the door. Yay!

The completely awesome class today – lots of people with experience ranging from 2 days to 4 years of improv, all of whom were so engaged and fun to work with. So much fun!

Appreciations Year Three: Day 153

The soundtrack from Wicked. Yummy.

Looking forward to teaching “Getting in Cahoots” at HUGE tomorrow. I love love love teaching drop-in classes!

The absurdity of being so happy, all these months later, when I opened the bedroom door with its new(ish) handle and remembered the supreme thrill of whacking the heck out of the old broken one and replacing it.
