- The amazing thunderstorm last night and this morning. So dramatic.
- The pile of solar-powered traffic road block thingies on the side of the road near my house that flash for hours after the sun goes down.
- 7 errands in 3 hours (including one appointment) — feels like some kind of superhuman feat.
Month: June 2014
Year 2, Day 302: closet treasures, friend time, Teddy weirdness
- The treasures I found when I cleaned out my closet today, including a missing sock, and the music box my dad brought to my mom at the hospital when I was born, and one of the bells that decorated the little Christmas tree he brought for her.
- Spending time with Sarah. What a fun night seeing The School For Girls Music and Highly Theatrical Comedy Revue. Oh, what a really lovely evening!
- The weirdness of Teddy, who is sitting here talking in really goofy old timer-y Minnesota accent and just said to me, “Well, you know life….it just throws some curve balls at you.”
Year 2, Day 301: new flowers, weirdo cats, giggling
- The new flowers that are blooming now. I love the ever-changingness of our plant life.
- My weirdo wackadoodle cats, playing in the most absurd-looking ways. The both make me giggle and giggle.
- Giggling.
Year 2, Day 300: playing improv, watching improv, sunshine
- Playing improv with my friends Danny, Nick, and Michael. Even when a few of us are under the weather, we have so much fun! Last chance to see us play coming up this Sunday!
- Watching Lauren and Steven play last night. Everything about that set, from the brilliant improv to the evidence of their deep love for and enjoyment of each other, filled my little heart right up!
- Sunshine after a few fabulous days of rain. I love the variety of our weather!
Year 2, Day 299: flavored coffee, family outing, vacuumed floors
- Americano with hazelnut. What a delicious treat!
- Coffee with Patrick and the kids. Nice little father’s day treat.
- Newly vacuumed floors — a short-lived, but welcome sight.
Year 2, Day 298: summer smells, afternoon movie, thunder sounds
- The green smell of everything. Mmmmmm.
- Seeing Bears at the Riverview with Katie, Terri & Ruby. [Not actual bears, don’t worry…]
- Listening to rain and thunder. What a peaceful, wonderful sound.
Year 2, Day 297: making cards, rehearsing with Sarah, watching my improv sets
- Making gel pen cards with Katie. More fun with silliness.
- Rehearsing with Sarah. Every week we make new discoveries and have new ideas to try out. I love love love playing with my darling friend and refining our improv form!!!
- Watching videos of our last 2 sets — first time I’ve watched myself play and felt nothing but joy. (Take THAT inner critic!) What a miracle.
Year 2, Day 296: rose quartz, non-espresso, fun

- Rose quartz. There is something comforting and lovely and grounding and solid about this amazing pink stone.
- My own super magical powers of manifestation. Yesterday’s non-espresso was so funny. Oh hahahaha!
- Fun. I like that I can often find it in the least likely places! I wonder where I will find it today….
Year 2, Day 295: all kinds of yum, brushing, green green greenness
- Lemonade with ice. All kinds of yum.
- Luna tolerating a good brushing so we can cut down the amount of fur floating in the air.
- The green green greenness of things right now.
Year 2, Day 294: short days, walks, bedtime
I appreciate:
- That I almost never have 12-hour work days.
- Knowing that tomorrow, at some point, I’m gonna go for a walk!
- Bedtime.
