Year 2 Day 144: kids, coffee, baristas

I appreciate:

  • Kids who are wiling to join me in the fight against clutter. So many wins for today!
  • Americano from Royal Grounds Coffee. What a delicious treat!
  • Alison, the lovely barista who, when I asked for a gi-normous vessel of Americano, offered to go find me a 5-gallon bucket. She really gets me.

Year 2 Day 143: getting stuff done, people, babysitting

I appreciate:

  • Completing a task that’s been on the to-do list for forever. Hooray!
  • My great good fortune to know the people I know. Seriously, sometimes I can’t even believe it.
  • Babysitting that ends up being super fun playtime with my favorite little one and a personal concert by one of my favorite musicians on the planet. — with Ellis.

Year 2 Day 141: appreciation, omega, kitty

I appreciate:

  • Appreciating things. (Hahaha – so meta!) I love knowing that even on a craptacular day, at some point I’m going to find something about it that was good – even if I do put it off until the day is over…
  • Omega gummies. For the grown up AND the kid in me.
  • Toby’s weird reaction to anything new — including noises. Yes, we entertain ourselves by making weird sounds and watching Toby try to figure out what is happening…

Year 2 Day 135: tea, sunshine, reading through good things

I appreciate:

  • Raspberry Hibiscus tea. Warm and sweet and mmmmm.
  • Sunshine! It may be cold, but at least it’s sunny!
  • Reading through all the good things that happened in 2013 (Yes, there was actually good stuff amidst the chaos and drama…) My favorite thing: remembering that I sunk an 18-foot putt when we played golf up in Grand Rapids. That is really fun to remember! (And yes, Ivan, it is also fun to remember your 30-foot putt from the same game!)
