Year 2 Day 11: problem solving with hammer, door knob, morning glories

I appreciate:

Being a creative problem solver. Problem? Kitty locked in office (no key). Creative solution? After exhausting all other methods (try every key in house, credit card between door and frame, lock picking, screwdriver wedged into lock, drilling out lock) and failing to open door, beat the crap out of the door knob until the sucker comes off.

The new, non-locking door knob Mckenzie and I installed.

Morning glories blooming. Hurray!

Year 2 Day 10: my boss, my Sara, my job, my amusement

I appreciate:

  • My boss. (Hint, it’s me.) It was so nice of her to let me take a midday break to visit with a dear friend who’s in town for the day.
  • My Sara. While she’s on maternity leave, I’m taking over her regular jobs. Wow, she does a lot of stuff!! Oy!
  • My job. It may be a made-up job (hey! just like improv make-em-ups!), but it sure is satisfying and fun!
  • My ability to amuse myself. Heh.

Year 2 grumpy grumpy Day 9: help on the way, satisfaction, 2nd coffee

I appreciate:

  • The helpful Facebook posts I will undoubtedly see soon, those telling of wonderful things happening in my friends’ lives, and pointing me to funny or uplifting stories and photos.
  • The satisfaction I’ll feel when I’ve unloaded and inventoried these boxes of Pat Pattison’s books and new t-shirts that arrived. And the fun I’ll have doing it. I love the concreteness of the activity.
  • Second coffee. The post-coffee coffee that helps me feel like everything is going to be okay.

Year 2 Day 8: roadie, suncatcher, bee bike helmet

I appreciate:

The chance to play roadie for Ellis today, and watch people light up when they heard her music for the first time – especially the woman who, when Ellis started playing Royalty to Me, stopped in her tracks, turned around and said, “Oh my god, that is beautiful,” and stood there, rapt, with her hand over her heart. πŸ™‚

The beautiful treble clef and notes suncatcher in saw in the reception office today. Should’ve taken a pic!

Seeing a bicycle delivery person wearing a bee bike helmet complete with springy antennae! I found the company online and it’s super cool: http://www.thebeezkneezdelivery.com/

Year 2 Day 6: ripple effect, AC, fun set

I appreciate:

Hearing about the ripple effect my own practice of gratitude creates. What a thrill to learn that someone new is reading & being positively affected by these posts! Even more exciting to watch friends like the wise and wonderful Pam embark on their own journeys to actively seek joy and create new neural pathways! 😊

Air conditioning. What a blessing this week. Having the power out for a bit last night made me appreciate it even more!

The joyful, delightful, fabulously fun set with Hugs, Inc. last night! β™₯

Year 2 Day 3: Dad, key, electricity

I appreciate:

  • My dad coming over and teaching me how to do basic electric projects for the house (see, you can teach an old dog new tricks!).
  • My completely awesome new house key with the lightning bolt.
  • Hahaha – I guess I appreciate electricity, both in my house and on my key.
