Year 1 Day 311: silver frame, sewing time, knowing

I appreciate:

  • The little 59¢ silver frame I got at Value Village and is now sitting on my desk with a photo of my favorite little one.
  • The chance to hang out with my mom and Katie later today. We’re doing a sewing project. (We’ll see if the results make tomorrow’s appreciations… and if my mom and Katie are still talking to me! Sewing and I don’t always get along…)
  • Knowing:
  1. I don’t have to be a victim of my mood – I can choose better-feeling thoughts.
  2. Writing these appreciations is helping me focus more positively — and (most importantly) —
  3. As soon as I’m done with this I can take myself for a walk to Royal Grounds Coffee and get a yummy coffee.

Year 1 Day 309: brave improvisers, help from dad, Ruby

I appreciate:

  • Katie and all the other brave 101 improvisers for having the courage to get up there and do it. What a great show!
  • My dad, for helping us with our internet connectivity problem. (Uh, plug in the hub…)
  • Ruby for all her wonderfulness, including saying things like, “My feet are stuck to me. My feet are made of me.”

Year 1 Day 308: tolerance, gratitude practice, bubbles

I appreciate:

  • Your tolerance of my frequent after-the-fact posting of appreciations.
  • The thrill of learning that someone unexpected reads these posts — and that my little gratitude practice has a positive effect on others. Fun!
  • Bubbles. I WILL learn to blow the bubble within the bubble. Curse you, Dan Linden, for making it look so easy, though!

Year 1 Day 306: fabulous family, meeting cousins, reunion success

I appreciate:

  • That I can spend the entire day at a family reunion and encounter only interesting, funny, lovely people!
  • Getting to meet some of my cousins (I have 25) for the first time ever.
  • Catching up with my cousins – some for the first time in more than 10 years.
  • My Dad, for coming up with the idea for the reunion, all the people who travelled so far to be there, and everyone who pitched in to make it a memorable day!

Year 1 Day 305: workers, west wind, family reunion

I appreciate:

  • The workers who worked through the night to restore power.  Ours came back on after 6 this morning.
  • That those trees didn’t hit either house.  So glad the wind came from the west!
  • Today’s family reunion.  I’ll meet cousins I’ve never met and see people I haven’t seen in 10 or 20 years.  Should be fun!
