Year 1, Day 92: Mondays, facebook, HUGE playing

I appreciate:

  • Laughter Mondays, laughter yoga and Show X. Mondays are awesome!
  • All the excellent posts on FB today. I love my friends who are, like me, searching for brightness and joy in the world. Nice posts today! β™₯
  • Getting to play at HUGE again tonight – with my brilliant and amazing classmates from 401. We’re gonna try out our new form! πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 91: numbers, caffeine, !!!! :), and β™₯

I appreciate:

  1. That day 91 (well, 91.25, so depending on whether we’re using the 24-hour day starting at midnight or my real day which started at about 6:45, either 6 am or 12:45 pm…) represents the first quarter year of posting daily appreciation on FB. Yay gratitude! Yay numbers! Yay geekiness!
  2. Caffeine. Can you tell who’s had more than her usual dose this morning?!?? πŸ˜› Yay caffeine!
  3. Exclamation points and smiley faces!!! πŸ™‚
  4. Last night with little Miss R. So much fun to spend time with her. Fills my heart right up! β™₯ β™₯ β™₯

Year 1, Day 90: thoughtfulness, fellow improvisors, productive days

I appreciate:

  1. Anthony, for hosting an awesome party — and for the incredibly sweet and funny words and gifts he bestowed upon us! He is thoughtfulness incarnate. πŸ™‚
  2. My fellow improvisers from Comedy Sportz.Β  You are brilliant, amazing people and I’m so grateful to be able to count you among my friends!
  3. Having had a productive Friday, thus allowing me to float through today pretty easily. πŸ™‚

Year 1, Day 89: aftereffects of feeling pleased with aftereffects of feeling pleased with aftereffects

Today’s gratitudes:

  • I appreciate the way bits of scenes from the improv-a-thon flash through my mind and make me laugh all over again. Nice aftereffect!
  • Hahaha – now I appreciate the word aftereffect. I don’t think I’ve ever written it before. It looks cool.
  • I appreciate how easily I’m pleased by words. Being a geek has its advantages! πŸ˜‰
  • I’m pleased by feeling so pleased about being easily pleased just now. So meta.

Year 1, Day 88: people, people, people

Today I appreciate sooooo many people:

  • Thank you, MN, for being such a cool state. We raised over 16 million dollars for more than 4,000 non-profit organizations, including 2 of my favorites, Avalon Charter School and HUGE Theater.
  • Thank you FB friends for tolerating incessant posts and pleas for donations during the past 2 days. πŸ˜‰
  • Thank you, Janet Brown, for tipping the scale with your donation last night. You are a rock star! β™₯ Between the 3 teams I played on and my own page, I helped raise over $500 of the $10,000+ raised for HUGE.
  • Thank you to the countless people who stayed up for 28 hours and made this such an inspiring, exciting event!
  • Thank you, hundreds of improvisers, for taking risks, making choices, and creating beautiful and funny art before our eyes.

Year 1, Day 86: huge appreciation for HUGE

It will come as no surprise for you to learn that I appreciate HUGE Theater! Here are today’s reasons:

  1. It is one of the most open and welcoming theater communities I’ve ever encountered.
  2. People of all skill levels are encouraged to explore their creativity, stretch past their comfort levels to see what’s there, and to see an expanded version of themselves in the process.
  3. Honesty and humor color all the improv that happens there — and you can see this amazing live theater 6 nights a week!

Year 1, Day 84: snow, chickpeas, pink canoe painting

I appreciate:

  1. That since it has to be cold, it at least has the decency to snow. Thank you, weather.
  2. Saffron Road Crunchy Chickpeas. Just tried them yesterday and they are so yummy! Thanks, Burcin Ozel, for the suggestion!
  3. The little strip of pink on the canoe in the painting my grandpa did. I wonder what he thought about as he painted it. I didn’t really ever know him, but from the stories I’ve heard, he was a supremely kind and interesting man.

Year 1, Day 83: friends and family, audience, improv community

I appreciate:

  1. My amazing friends and family who showed up for our ComedySportz show yesterday. It was so great to see you all out there. Thank you! β™₯
  2. My classmates’ friends and families who showed up. It was SO much fun to play to a packed house!
  3. Getting to know and learning improv with some of the brightest, most generous, most talented people in the Twin Cities. πŸ™‚
