Year 1, Day 99: getting better, more appreciations, sunshine and other sunshiny things

I appreciate:

  • I am wildly grateful that the sore throat portion of this cold is nearly past. What a relief!!!
  • I appreciate David’s excellent movie suggestions. Though I seldom watch movies, his predictions about what I’ll like are 99% accurate. 🙂
  • I appreciate understanding that everything is temporary — which allows me to survive the challenging moments of my day, and truly savor the beautiful moments. ♥ Middle age rocks! 🙂
  • It’s amazing how happy I feel that my throat feels more or less normal.
  • The relief of being nearly well is awesome!
  • Also, I’m loving the sunshine, the fact that my adorable husband has begun posting appreciations on FB, the purr-purr-purring of Luna, and today’s fabulous series of hot drinks: coffee, more coffee, orange-spice tea. ♥

Year 1, Day 98: home working, gratitudes, daughter

I appreciate:

  1. Having a job that allows me to work from home in my jammies!
  2. The exquisite gratitude postings by my friends. It brightens my day so much to hear about the good things in your lives!
  3. That I still miss my daughter every time she goes back to school. I’m so lucky to have kids I adore so much. ♥

Year 1, Day 95: stealing thanks

Borrowing (stealing) the perfect facebook status update from my dear friend Timmy:

  • Thanks Thanksgiving, for providing a willing confederation of grateful people.
  • Thanks gratefulness, for making my days so much brighter during the past six months.
  • Thanks friends and family, for providing so many opportunities to be grateful.
  • Finally, thanks food, shelter and warmth–it’s sobering knowing how capriciously you can disappear.

Year 1, Day 94: friends, family, coworkers

I appreciate the wonderful people in my life. I feel utterly grateful to be surrounded by so much grace, wisdom, gentleness and wit. I appreciate all of you so very much. Thank you for making my life the beautiful thing it is.

I appreciate:

  • My family. I’m lucky to be able to count my family members, including my husband and kids, parents, siblings, and cousins, as friends. What a generous, lively, interesting, funny group of people!
  • My chosen family, including dear friends here in town, fellow improvisers, friends from Song School, old friends from childhood.
  • Friends whom I’ve never met in person, but have come to love just as dearly, including my word-geek friends from Bitwordy. 🙂
  • Clients and colleagues who share similar values and who are such a joy to work with.

When I consider how many truly lovely people I encounter on a regular basis, it takes my breath away.
