Year 1, Day 62: Katie, improv day, quiet Sunday

I appreciate:

  1. Talking with my amazing kid, Katie Korpi, yesterday. Nothing special, I just love her. ♥
  2. A most wondrous day of improv yesterday: Class at CS, drinks with classmates then back to CS for show, then over to Huge with Elissa for 10:30 show. Awesome!
  3. Sunday morning coffee-newspaper-clock-ticking quietude.

Year 1, Day 61: foggy haze, sunlight, feeling of accomplishment

I appreciate:

  1. The foggy haze that hung over the falling leaves this morning. Thanks for making my morning coffee feel so cozy.
  2. The sunlight filtering through the trees this afternoon. Thanks for the energy boost!
  3. The sense of accomplishment achieved after getting all my errands done — with time enough to watch more of A Midsummer Night’s Dream before class.

“O me! you juggler! you canker-blossom!
You thief of love! what, have you come by night
And stolen my love’s heart from him?”

You canker-blossom! A most excellent insult!

Year 1, Day 60: improv people, rehearsal, Timmy

I appreciate:

  1. The vibrant, lovely, funny people I’m getting to know through my improv groups.
  2. Last night’s hilarious rehearsal with Erin Kennedy, Anthony James and Karen Baker. Is it legal to laugh that much?
  3. My friend, Timmy Riordan, for being the adventurous, witty, charming man he is — and for our great conversation this morning! 🙂

Year 1, Day 57: albino squirrel, colored pencils, stickers

I appreciate:

  1. The albino squirrel that ran past yesterday. I thought for a minute how unique it is — and then thought, for the rest of the day, about how unique we all are. ♥
  2. Colored pencils. They make my planner pretty — and even MORE useful.
  3. Halloween stickers. They make bill paying more fun – because the bills are boo-tiful. 😛 (Sorry!)

Year 1, Day 56: resources, neuroplasticity, Kim

I appreciate:

  1. All the resources I’ve come across in the past year that have helped me learn how to change my thoughts and create new neural pathways. Everything in my life is more or less the same — but my life is completely different!
  2. Neuroplasticity. How cool that our brains are a little like silly-putty. Hahaha!
  3. The chance encounter with Kim at Back to Balance-Achieve Health today.  What a wonderfully fun surprise!

Year 1, Day 55: boots, Kismet, family weekend

I appreciate:

  1. Boots! There’s something fun about wearing a dress and boots. Thanks, Debb, for giving me my first pair — and helping me find my second pair for cheap at Kismet. I am now an official addict.
  2. Kismet and other second-hand stores for supplying such cool boots for cheap!
  3. Katie being home for 4 days and the luxury of weekends. Not everybody gets to have time off like this, and I truly appreciate the time to rest, hang out with my family….and go shopping with Katie…to buy us both some boots. 😛

Year 1, Day 54: bus, haircut, ambience

I appreciate:

  1. The bus from Morris that brings Katie Korpi home for the weekend!
  2. My new haircut, which allows me to carry my purse or briefcase on my shoulder without catching my hair in the straps!
  3. The ambiance of this overcast Saturday as I sit here in my messy house with purring felines draped on the couch behind me, listening to the sounds of my family all around. Bliss. 🙂
